Are you wearing rings?

Nope, don’t have any.

I confess I’m a ringaholic. I don’t have a ring on my left thumb. Not only are there rings on the rest of my fingers, but I have 2 on one finger and 3 on another. My hands feel naked without them. As I’m allergic to yellow gold they are all either silver or white gold.

I hate gold. I also hate diamonds. I just think they’re ugly. So anyway, my wedding ring is a sterling silver filigree thingie. I don’t take it off, ever, except once a month or so to scrub underneath with a loofah so the callus doesn’t build up too much.

I also have a buncha rings… mostly opals or onyx… a few poison rings… several toe rings… I adore rings. They’re one of the few types of jewelry I’ll wear. I don’t wear earrings or bracelets, and rarely wear a necklace.

I wear a claddagh ring also. It’s on the middle finger of my right hand. It actually has a black stone in the middle of the heart. **MikeG[/]Is yours turned inward or outward? Unfortuantely, mine is turned outward… :frowning: that might change sometime in the near furture :), but not yet…

I bought it when while dating my last boyfriend, but i don’t think he viewed it the way i did. He would notice which way it was turned, just to be sure of my feelings… i don’t think he understood the meaning i attach[ed] to it… I don’t ever take it off, not even when dealing with nasty art-related materials…

I also occasionaly wear old silver and tourquoise rings from mexico that my gramma gave me, but only one at a time…

shit… damn closing tags…

Wow me too!

Wedding ring. It started a 12, and went up from there. I don’t wear my HS graduation ring. Silly people, wouldn’t let us use crossed machine guns or swords or anything cool.

I only wear one ring, on my ring finger on my left hand. My father gave me a beautiful “initial ring” for my 13th birthday because he said he wanted to be the first man to give me a ring. It’s a pretty gold band with my first initial engraved into a heart. i won’t take it off and put it away until it is replaced one day by en engagement ring or wedding band. even then, i will prolly still wear it as a charm on a necklace. He has done the same for all my younger sisters, making the 13th birthday even more of a big deal. I think it’s the lovliest tradition our family has.

Nope. I think I lost, or my first husband pawned my class ring. And I haven’t worn my wedding ring in six years. And I only wear a watch on Fridays.

A slight hijack, but may be of interest…?

Apparently, the engineers here in Canada have much different standards and culture then they do in the US. Shortly before graduation, engineers attend a “ringing ceremony” where they’re given a ring denoting their status. Most engineers whom I know tap their rings incessantly for a while after getting them … From what I understand, the weight or the ring (and the tapping), is supposed to remind them of their responsibility. (There’s a huge focus on ethics and professional behavior.)

Any Canadian engineers who can help me out/expand on that?

To answer the OP: No, I don’t wear any rings…

Anti pro how come?

One - my wedding ring which I never take off, 'cept for cleaning, because my Mom said that she never took hers off. I do add a ring or two on “fancy dress” occasions.

I wear a watch when I leave the house. I have three which I alternate depending upon what I am wearing.

3 rings on my left hand, 2 on my right. 3 bracelets and a watch on my left wrist, 5 on my right. The rings and 3 of the bracelets are silver, with tiny stones or unadorned. 4 of the bracelets are cloisonne and 2 are horn.

Since I catch birds using mist-nets (something like 30 feet of Grandma’s hairnet strung up on poles), you’d think wearing all this jewelry would be an impediment. Fortunately, I’ve learned to stay out of the nets myself. And I know of one other mist-netter who wears even more jewelry than I, even big dangly earrings. You get used to wearing all this stuff.

It is a Black Hills Gold ring that my grandfather bought for my mother. I figure it is probably about fifty years old. It is a wider band than the currently fashionable Black Hills Gold jewelry.

I have a high school ring which I don’t wear, a college ring which I don’t wear, and a wedding ring which I no longer wear–all gold. (I keep thinking I should either sell that last one, or throw it into a lake, or something. Or maybe I’ll hold onto it until gold goes back up.)

I wear a watch when I leave the house.

The only ring I wear all the time is my wedding band, which is yellow gold, and narrow, with 5 small channelset diamonds. I only take it off if my hands swell, which they do sometimes, or if I’m using harsh cleaning fluids.

I have 3 other gold rings that I wear when the mood hits, an antique ruby ring that belong to my great-grandmother, another ruby that my uncle found and gave to me, and a blue topaz my parents gave me.

I have silver rings for almost every finger that I will also wear when in the mood.

I also have my h/s class ring and my mom’s original wedding set, but I never wear those.

I * could make a joke * and say, it’s the only day, the institution allows me out, but I’ll answer seriously, since it’s pretty close anyway!! Fridays are me and my son’s ‘day off’ of school. We run errands and rent games, mundane things like that, SOooo, that’s the only day, I wear a watch.

Aren’t you bored that you asked???

I don’t wear rings unless I dress up and it would look nice with the dress, I’m really not a big jewelery person. The only jewelery I do wear has to mean something to me. I wore a gold ring with an opal and two diamonds I think on it because my parents gave it to me for my quinceanera (15th birthday party) but I was scared I’d lose it so I stopped wearing it and I don’t particularly like gold. I wear a small silver bracelet with a a place to engrave a name on it but I never got around to engraving it, it has a little heart shaped hole in it that I find so cute so I wanted to wait until I had omething or someone special to engrave on it. I might get it engraved sometime soon but I’m not too sure. I would love to have a ring from a guy shrug I’m not really sure why but it just seems like something that would be really sweet and special. Of course my taste in jewelery is rather odd so it’d be a little hard to get me something I like. Or to find what I really want. I want a plain silver ring that isn’t shiny, is that so much to ask for? I just can’t find one, oh well, maye someday.

Part of my school’s dress code is no rings unless it is a plain wedding band–because of safety/health issues. Before I started school, I wore only one ring, which was a hefty silver Celtic band, worn on my left index finger. It was given to me for my 21st birthday by the guy who was my first love. I wore the ring for 8 years, and I still have the callous and mark on the inside of the finger.

I don’t wear jewelry except for dressy occasions, and even then it’s limited to a string of pearls or some other kind of necklace.

I rarely wear jewelry (earrings, bracelets, anything) because I end up with irritated skin. I’ve tried everything - hypoallergenic, nickel-free, plastic, 22k - and I still end up itchy skin. If I am going somewhere dressy, the jewelry is the LAST thing on and the first thing off. Really ticked me off - (f)Roommate gave me a gorgeous engagement ring and I could not wear it on my hand for more than one day at a time. Watches are worse - I end up looking like I have leprosy on my wrist for days.
Oh to be normal.
