Anybody know whatever happened to "Joyce K., Seattle"?

Dopers who have been reading the column since the early Chicago Reader days, or the paperback books, may recall that many early questions to Cecil were submitted by “Joyce K., Seattle”. I’ve always wondered if she ever joined the boards (either this one or the old AOL forum). Seems to me that someone like her would fit right in. If she was a member, how would we know?

On a related topic, are the Baltimore Dopers still a bunch of crazies?

Her last name was almost certainly Kehoe, as noted in this column from 1992. Why do you always see just one shoe by the side of the road? - The Straight Dope

The OP’s question has been asked several times over the years, with nary a bit of information as to whether she was on the SDMB, much less whatever may have happened to her.

Googling “Joyce Kehoe” Seattle produces the following from alt.fan.cecil-adams via Google Groups from 1998. She talks a bit about Cecil answering her questions, about corresponding with Jan Brunvand when he was first getting going and relates her new (married) last name. That’s about it.

She’s easily findable on Facebook. Someone could shoot her a message and ask.

Now that you mention it, I do remember years ago seeing a letter from “Joyce Kehoe, Seattle” in one of the Brunvand books and recall thinking at the time it was probably the same Joyce K.

As a person who both read all the paperback SD books and spent a ton of time on Alt.fan.Cecil-Adams in the 90s and early 2000s, that thread was a blast from the past for me on many levels.

I like to think it’s her
