I just got a note that they added more words. Hope it is true.
+a million on Meeplet being awesome at this game.
Aww, you guys are too nice!
Does anyone have the paid version? Supposedly it has more words. I considered buying it, but the reviews were so poor on the latest edition…apparently, the game will post about every move you make on Facebook without asking permission each time (thus spamming your friends’ news feeds with posts about games they don’t care about). I find that potentially very annoying, so I’ve held off on ponying up the buck so far.
I have the paid version, and it never posts anything to Facebook. I probably forbade it from doing so when I set it up. I hate it when things do that.
sorry, your picture was so O-some i was kinda holding on to it so i can show it to the kids. i think i’ve sparked enough interest in one to spend more effort drawing than just to farm coins.
Not sure how it works on android, but you can take a screenshot on an iphone by hitting home+standby at the same time.
I’ve been trying to mix things up too and draw things more creatively, but since my drawing ability remains at the first grade level I think I just end up confusing people.
So, you can log in with your Facebook account but still forbid the game from making a bunch of junk posts on your behalf? That’s good to hear, because that’s not what the poor reviews are saying. I’d like to be able to have Facebook friends find me if they want to play, but I don’t want to completely spam my friends’ feeds like Farmville does (and since Draw Something is now owned by Zynga, that is a distinct possibility.)
I just downloaded the new update for the free game, and you can now add comments and save your drawings. Apparently, there are more words as well.
Actually, I don’t log in with my Facebook info. I try never to log into anything but Facebook with my Facebook info, since I don’t like my real name getting out into the wild.
Wow, turn 100! And a few words that I have not seen before.
When I played Farmville briefly, I did NOT want all those posts going to my wall, and also I made Farmville “friends” that I had never met, since you need them to do stuff. So I created a fictional Facebook account just for Farmville stuff. I don’t play any more, but I find that account useful for all Facebook things I don’t want to pepper my real friends with, including liking things. Profile picture is our rooster, name is made up, all emails from Facebook go to an account I rarely check. (Not using it for Draw Something, though, I just used a seldom-checked email account to log in and set up a username.)
Facebook just busted my two dummy accounts that I used to use to send me stuff in games. I mean, fair play to Facebook 'cause you’re not supposed to do that, but I was sad.
Mine may be ok for a while since it was active with Farmville and I’m sure posts from “friends” continue to show up, but thanks for the heads-up. I find that I stay signed in to the fake one more than the real one (I’m not really a “status”-logging person), so my liking things as that fake person probably makes me appear fairly active. I agree that it might not be right to have more than one account, but that wouldn’t happen if they would back off a tad… Also, I think people have put up pages for their dogs. Hmmm, better check that email account to see if I’m in trouble…
This game is a blast! Anyone can add me, my name is Geoffrey with a G. I should warn you now that I’m still saving up to get the color green.
I would just make notes. “Pretend this is green!”
Wow, I’m gonna have to step up my game! Some of these are awesome! Spoilering because a few of them are NSFW.
I added a bunch of the people in this thread, but I kind of lost track of who with the name changes. If I missed you, feel free to add me.
I tried this game once and I don’t see the reason for its popularity.
I downloaded it, signed up, then fumbled around since instructions were nowhere to be found. It told me I could draw one of three things, so I chose “tongue” (the second hardest). I drew a tongue to the best of my ability, then waited for a response from the other player, but never got one. Haven’t picked it up since.
Why are people so wild over this idiotic game? Am I missing something?
I didn’t have much fun with it when I had random opponents, either. They didn’t respond and on the rare occasions that they did, they usually just wrote out the word (which I find to be kind of insulting–at least try to draw, even if you just pick the easiest choice). But once I got a couple of RL friends and several Dopers on my game list, it got a lot more fun.
I’m Meeplet in the game, btw–if you want to add me, I promise to respond (though it might take me as long as a day).
Thanks, but I just uninstalled it after giving it a second chance. Any game where you need to wait a day for an opponent to make his move is not very fun in my opinion (not saying anything about you… just the nature of the game in general).
