This was a CBS or NBC production, which aired on national TV in the 1960’s. It concerned the activities at a Boston (illegal) off-track betting joint. It operated in the back room of a key shop (Shcwartz’s Key Shop), on Mass Ave. in Boston.
I believe that it was made by setting up a camera in an apartment across the street, and filming the customers that came in to place bets.
I’ve searched for it on Youtube-no luck-anybody know where I might find it?
I obviously don’t remember it personally, but I remember reading the story of how it went down in (I think) one of William Paley’s biographies. The Boston police or state politicians or someone high-up were so mixed up in the illegal gambling that it didn’t even air in Massachusetts in its first run in 1961, IIRC. When it was rebroadcast in 1963, it did run in MA.
