I still whip it out occasionally for old time’s sake. I like Titan Quest better, and am eagerly on the lookout for the next great diablo-style game. (Hellgate wasn’t it, apparently.)
Kind of addicting Diablo 1 clone, in an embarrassing sort of way: Fate.

I just did a google search for Diablo 3, and read some random gaming forums . . . the postings made me weep. It’s like icanhazcheesburger without the cats. Or the humor. Anyway, I couldn’t find anything substantial. Does anyone know if it’s coming out at all?

Oh and a protip: Even if your character says it’s expired, it may not actually be gone. Double-click the character to see if you can recover it. I’ve had characters expired for 2 years come back, but I’ve also had characters expired for a month be unrecoverable. I think it has to do with the character database maintenance.
D3 isn’t in production, but Blizzard did buy up a bunch of D3-related domains last summer. Some people have said Hellgate: London is basically D3 (produced by the same studio), but I thought Hellgate sucked.

With summon necro’s, there aren’t that many synergies to worry about, its a pretty simple build. Max raise skeleton, skelton mastery, raise mage, and one point in the other summon skills. Also, put one point in each curse, and max corpse explosion.
The way you play the character is your skeleton are pretty strong, they won’t die that often. The skeletons will get you a body, then you cast corpse explosion on it to kill all the monsters in the area. Great fun! 
The skeletons have gotten a lot stronger in nm and hell, they get the same life bonuses that the enemies get on the difficulty levels.
