Bit condescending, no?
I don’t recall anyone saying it’s the second coming of <fill in your favorite highbrow TV show, if there even is such a thing>. All I said was that I enjoyed it.

I’m still enjoying it. And I don’t think Sheldon always comes off as the hero. He seems to get taken down a peg or two from time to time.
NM. wrong thread.
I saw the original post in my email notifications and I was like,, I’m not sure which version of Young Sheldon they’re watching, but it sounds way more fun than the one *I’m *watching! ![]()
LOL. I know, if ever there was a time to not be in the right thread, this was it…![]()
Sweet little boy? Well… that’s a reach, but I love the show!
Why do the twins sleep in the same room?
The more YS shows I watch, the more the mother looks like her mother!! (Cant remember her name)
I really like the theme! :D:D
Probably because they only have three bedrooms, and the alternative (having Sheldon share with Georgie and give Missy her own room) probably wouldn’t end well for anybody.
Laurie Metcalf. And yeah, she does. Sounds like her too!
Me too! Did you know the band that did it is fronted by the guy who used to play Steve on Blue’s Clues?
I like the expression on Sheldon’s face as he carefully edges away from cows and tumbleweeds. ![]()
I agree with the others that think it’s just fine. I’ve been watching it all the way through.
Actually, I do remember thinking it was going to suck so it has been a pleasant surprise for me I guess.
And yeah I find myself thinking all the time that we need to see Georgie and Tam on TBBT. And also that the kid who plays Georgie is going to go far.
I just hope Montana Jordan came avoid the problems of young acting stardom. And I hope Chuck Lorre has future TV shows planned for him.
Lorre’s ability to spot talent is amazing.
Laurie Metcalf is Zoe Perry’s mother. She had a head start. ![]()
Question: If (hopefully, when) Georgie shows up on TBBT, who should play him? Of course, Glenn Quinn would have been perfect, but he couldn’t avoid the problems of young stardom.
So who would you put up for the part?
Of course he’s too big a star now to be practical, but I think Chris Pratt would do a good Georgie.
 Well, that explains how she looks and sounds and reminds me so much of Laurie Metcalf! As an aside, is this a first in television - a mother and daughter playing the same character on two different shows?
Looks like he will be showing up, played by Jerry O’Connell.
Jerry O’Connell and (I assume) Wil Wheaton together for the first time since Stand By Me? I am so looking forward to that wedding!
I think Jim Parsons is hot.
This has been my understanding of it.
Yeah, Meemaw kind of bugs me, because I love Annie Potts’s version, and I don’t really like the version in BBT. They look nothing like each other, and don’t really act much like each other either.
I agree. I really didn’t like TBBT Meemaw. Someone suggested that Chloris Leachman should have played her. That would have been great, and would have worked out better with Annie Potts (height notwithstanding).
I’m hoping we’ll see Georgie and Tam turn up in BBT at some point.

Oh, I’d love to see Tam at the wedding! (Along with Frank and Alicia.)
Question: If (hopefully, when) Georgie shows up on TBBT, who should play him?
My choice would be Colin Egglesfield. He was the “bad” Rizzoli brother on Rizzoli and Isles. Now they’d have to curl his hair, though, after the actor on YS. Or I suppose they could cut it really short.
Looks like he will be showing up, played by Jerry O’Connell.
I like that choice too.
I’m watching Young Sheldon. I thought I was going to hate it, and while I don’t think it’s as good as TBBT, it’s perfectly fine. Fills out the hour for me nicely.
I love the show! All the characters are highly entertaining.
The series ended tonight.
I thought it ended well, tied somethings together.
Georgie and Mandy get a show of their own next year. Hopefully that will give a bit of look into what the family did while Sheldon was in California.
The new show with pick up about a month after Sheldon leaves for California.
The series ended tonight.
What a gut punch. The finale was handled with warmth and humor, but wow did it hurt at times.
i thought it did very well showing how families fracture after a death. each deep in their grief. add in having georgie moving out with a wife and child, sheldon moving out to california, and missy high school age at home. oof.
i liked the update we saw with sheldon and amy.
their daughter"s name was not mentioned, perhap they gave her penny’s last name.
