As an IT pro, I’ve been working with Microsoft’s “fastest growing product ever”, SharePoint, alot this year and I really like this concept for web based collaboration and then some.
On the other hand, a collaboration platform is exactly what our confused household needs – house with many projects in itself, garden too, two cars (one too many, need to get rid of one, but it needs repairing first), three kids, two full time jobs, and so on.
I found Office Live Workspace, and promptly created an account and made ourself a workspace. Here we could have our family calendar, perhaps the budget, the grocery lists, and everything!
Not quite. For one thing, you don’t have a calendar…! For another, you seem to be unable to rename objects like “Workspace 1”, and so on.*
I got three questions for the dopers:
Have you used Office Live Workspace, and how do you like it?
Is it true, you don’t get a calendar?
Have you another “family collaboration” solution at your place, which you would recommend?
- The Live Workspace is in beta.
