There was just a mild/medium sized earthquake in Santa Barbara about five minutes ago. A slow roller. Anyone else feel it? I hope there wasn’t a huge one far from here. Check in Golden State Dopers.

Felt it. Very slow and long roller. No problems here in north L.A. County.
I’m guessing some did…CNN is saying it was a 6.5, centered about seven miles north of San Simeon. That’s quite a ride!
We felt it in San Jose - in fact, ran down 11 stories to the street. It wasn’t a little one.
::heart pounding::
I barely felt it here in Woodland Hills, though of course everyone is using it as an excuse not to work. Me, I don’t need an excuse.
I didn’t feel it here on the desert east of the Sierral Nevadas.
Didn’t feel it here, too far north but friends and familiy in SF and LA felt it.
Hope everyone is ok. Here is my favorite earthquake tracking site:
Looks like some nasty aftershocks too.

Really? Felt the 6.5 here in Redwood City, didn’t feel any aftershocks. My son, over in the East Bay, says he didn’t feel a thing, just a bit dizzy.
Got over a minute of swaying on the 5th floor here in Pomona (20 miles east of downtown). Talked to my dad in El Segundo and he didn’t feel a thing. I could chalk it up to the fact that my campus lies directly on a major earthquake fault and we might have just been feeling it “down the line.”
Entire dad’s side of the family lives in Cambria, 6 miles from the epicenter. Aunt’s not picking up her phone at work, hope everyone is OK!
I didn’t feel it. Rico is at work in Anaheim. When I called to see if it was ok, he said he hadn’t heard there was a quake but he thought he’d felt something.
Downtown SF checking in…
On the 7th floor of One Sansome, it wasn’t felt, but someone heard the windows creak.
At 5th & Mission, it was very slightly felt on the 5th floor. Again, the windows made it obvious - in this case, the cords for the window shades were bouncing gently against the window frames.
I didn’t feel it in San Francisco, though at least one person I know here did.
And I’m sure the two people I know who’re driving from SLO to the Bay Area today may have noticed 'em.
Bakersfield, I was driving so I did not feel it. My wife and kids did.
To be specific, I’m at Geary & Divisadero, the other person I talked to is in the Sunset.
Woodland Hills here, too… at first, I thought I was feeling a bit dizzy, then noticed that it wasn’t me swaying back and forth. My kitchen light, which hangs down from the ceiling, was swinging. I’m surprised, though, because it was just a long, slow roll by the time it got here.
Still, a 6.5 is nothing to sniff at–it’s still a major shaker. And, in watching the CBS local news, apparently this is a faultline that hadn’t been discovered until just now.
Here’s a link to the SCEC realtime map with clickable links on individual events.
A 6.5 is a real waker-upper. Probably some homeless folks as a result of it…
We felt it here in the office in Pomona. I thought it was vertigo for a moment, but it was real motion… lasted about 10-20 seconds… All S-waves.
Lasted about a minute, I guess… It woke me up.
House was shaking; it was pretty freaky. More rocking than traditional jolts though. But still strong. No aftershocks felt at the moment.
It actaully didn’t bother me too much. Either I was too tired to notice or I’m just getting used to it.

My friend Donna in L.A. says, “i held on to both sides of my desk - it’s the weirdest thing - everything goes sideways …”
Apparently the quake knocked out her cap keys . . .
I’m here in the City of Industry, and I felt it. I was on the phone with a customer, and just thought I was really dizzy until the other girls in my department commented on it.
Hey ñañi. Long time…
Nice to see a fellow Barbarian every once in a while.
