Anyone else here love Mc Donalds?

I warn people against having children because it eventually leads to eating at McDonalds. So no I don’t love their offerings. When I played cricket however my favorite lunch was a large chocolate shake and a large strawberry shake. Cold, wet, filling and satisfying for a few hours.

One of my fondest memories is when I would walk home from grade school for lunch (yes, 2nd grade children where actually allowed outside unsupervised back in the day) and my Mom had been out and about and bought me back a McD’s. She would keep it warm in the oven.

Still love their double cheese burgers, and Quarter Pounders with cheese. But it’s pretty rare. There is only one McD’s in the county that I live.

My Wife isn’t too fond of them. But sometimes when we are on the road it’s our only choice. We usually end up at Wendys, which is fine by me.

Love Filet-O-Fish. I might have to go get one for dinner now.

I also like McD’s sausage biscuits and their hash browns for breakfast. They have pretty decent coffee and hot chocolate too.

Doesn’t everyone?

I used to love McD. When I moved out of my parents’ house at 23, the McD near my new residence had regular cheeseburgers for thirty-nine cents. Three of them and I’d feel stuffed for a dollar and a quarter. That was in '84. As late as 2009, I’d still do the drive-through for the dollar chicken sandwich or a McDouble. Now I’m on a low-sodium diet, so fast food joints (and most other restaurants) are a no-go for me.

Since someone else mentioned a Frosty-
Never liked them. Not chocolatey enough.

McDonald’s chief virtue is consistency - they deliver the same quality everywhere, and if a franchisee fails to do so, they want to know. I’ve known professional chefs who take their family to McD when traveling because they know that the food handling will be held to the same standard.

LOVE going to the arches! Big Mac, fries, McDouble, McChicken,McNuggets, chocolate Shakes, hot fudge sundaes, The new Motzz sticks and that wonderfull Coke! Oh and free, very fast wi-fi. LOVE IT!!!

Wendy’s fries used to be amazing. Like mediocre Wendys fries were better than mediocre McD’s ones. But then a few years ago they changed them and they’re not very good any more. The best batch is not as good as mediocre McDs. Still better than BK, but a pale imitation of what they were 5 years or so ago.

Yeah, the fries can be a great salt delivery system. But the rest of it is crrrrrrrap!

I only eat there if I absolutely have to, which is just about never.

…don’t rain on everyone’s parade…be a good boy…don’t rain on everyone’s parade…folks have a right to like what they like…don’t rain on everyone’s parade…don’t mention employee economic issues…don’t mention added sugars…don’t mention environmental waste…don’t mention “food deserts”…don’t rain on everyone’s parade…

We forgive you because we know you New Yorkers have a delicate digestive system because you never leave your own city and never get to taste any other cuisines than the versions you have there and believe are authentic… just like that guy from California who thinks they have better burgers from places that nobody has ever heard of like a place named after someone from Hawaii… than someone may be able to find in the Midwest where they actually raise the best beef cattle in the world.

Sincerely,

Everyone from the “Fly Over States.”

Oh… and also (Number one Google result on Number of McDonalds in NYC) "there are more McDonald’s franchises here than in any other city in the country, more than 250 of the suckers in the five boroughs, with 74 locations in Manhattan alone.

Someone must be eating them without exploding.

In Japan, I’ll go into a local McDonald’s every now and then for a “Teriyaki McBurger”. I also like the classic “Sausage McMuffin with Egg” for “Asa-makku” (Morning Mac). However, I was at JFK Airport on a recent trip and got in line to order some Mickey D’s…nothing seemed appealing so I got a fresh sandwich at a shop next to that.

By the way, they have some strange pricing here. A regular McDonald’s cheeseburger here is 130yen, but a double cheeseburger costs 360yen. What gives?

I used to go into Macca’s just for the touch of American culture, but it’s now so much part of Australia that it doesn’t even seem foreign anymore.

Anyway, I like the “pure beef patty”,and I’m a regular, but I’m always a little saddened by the soft American hamburger bun. The traditional hamburger here was a very horrible rissole, in a properly toasted (crunchy) bun with egg and beetroot.

Going off the McDonalds topic; but, as a beetroot-hater – while most things that I hear about Australia strike me as decidedly positive, the Aussie beetroot-with-burgers habit very much does not come under that heading. Frankly, the only description I can find for this practice, is “utterly barbaric” :dubious: .

I know it’s bad food, and bad for me. But sometimes I crave a 1/4 Pounder (no cheese) with fries and a soft drink.

My breakfast weakness, though, is the southern-style chicken biscuit. So. Good. I like the egg and cheese biscuit too but the chicken biscuit is amazing.

No. Not at all.

I worked at McDonalds during my senior year at high school (waaaay back in '79) and it was a very good experience. Allowed me to learn how to act (and not to act) at a place of business. So I have no axe to grind. But their food is pedestrian at best and there have been so many other options for fast food that have appeared over the years (Five Guys for one) that I haven’t been to or desired to go to a McDonalds in years.

It has been well over 12 years since I’ve even walked into a McDonalds, let alone eat anything from there (same for BK’s, Wendy’s, etc…). But on a regular basis, I still crave a Big Mac, large fry and a coke. I imagine that’s what it must be like to be an alcoholic or heroin addict on the wagon.

That’s not true!!!

Sometimes we go to Europe.

No, that’s LA. Europe is in the other direction.

I’ll eat there when I have no time for other food as it’s a known quantity.

That said, their new steakhouse burger is actually tasty. Still not worth 5 bucks but better than most.
