Anyone else here love Mc Donalds?

Thanks for the clarification… can you clarify one other thing please? Is Europe Paris or London?

Wiener Schnitzel.

Gesundheit.

I don’t get why Burger King and Wendy’s changed their fries. I guess they had focus groups, etc., and know what they’re doing. Since BK changed their fries (several years ago at least) I don’t go there at all (and I actually prefer their burgers to McDonalds). They’re coated with something gross. Wendy’s went from excellent to “okay” with their recent change.

I like Burger King’s fries, but only when they’re very fresh. They are thicker and have a meatier potato flavor compared to McDonald’s, but they kind of suck when you get to the bottom of the bag and they start getting cold. Of course, they’re all “ketchup-fries” in that none of them can be eaten plain.

I like McDonald’s, though not as much as I did when I was a kid. The Quarter Pounders used to be better back then (greasier, and probably even less healthy than they are now). Now, it’s hit or miss: sometimes they’re good, sometimes they’re dry and too salty.

Love the fries, though. And the Chicken McNuggets are good.

This may explain it. I don’t eat ketchup. Maybe they made these changes for people who do.

I tend to think the people who like Wendy’s or BK fries are those who either don’t remember the old ones or who just love ketchup.

I still love McDonald’s fries when they are hot, but I still remember the old version in tallow that I really wish they would bring them back, even if they had to put all kinds of disclaimers on them.

Back to the OP’s question… I enjoy them now and again, but it is usually when making a pit stop when travelling, or on an impulse. There is one less than a mile from my house and frequently my teenage boys will call on their way home and say they are stopping there and ask if I want anything. It takes great will power to not order a cheeseburger and fries.

BTW…I don’t have much will power.

They are sort of losing me, they keep switching their menu around and getting more expensive. Everything seems like it’s $1.50 (what used to be the dollar menu) or $5.00 without much in between. I went recently to get a grilled chicken sandwich and had to listen to a long spiel on how they don’t offer those any more but these ~$5.00 Artisan Chicken sandwiches are just as good. The way she automatically gave the explanation led me to believe there had been negative reactions from customers.

To me McDonalds needs to stick with simple, cheap, and consistently high-quality food.

I would be perfectly happy if they went back to the 60’s Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Filet of Fish and Fries menu… with the Big Mac and Quarter Pounder added.

Ok… they should probably continue breakfast. Egg McMuffin, Sausage McMuffin, and Hashbrowns. Nothing else needed.

McDonalds sponsors swimming events quite a bit, and way back in 1984 when they were still doing their promotions where you always won something, and it coincided with the Olympics boycott by the USSR, I was a swimmer. They gave you a promotional giveaway for entering each event, and another for placing in finals, and another for medaling. You could scratchoff to win something for “gold”, “silver”, and “bronze”; sometimes, all 3.

That summer my parents left town for a week, and I had enough triple-winners to feed me and a half-dozen friends, every meal for just about the entire week, almost completely free.

I loved me some McDonalds.

Then, I grew up, and had to cut back on how much McDonalds I ate. This year I had a sausage biscuit with egg when I was starving after a blood-draw fast, and it was… meh. It’d been almost 8 years since I ate at McDonalds. The taste for it has left me.

I don’t go often at all but I really really like the double cheeseburgers. It’s just a nice plain burger, no salad just a gerkin slice. Simple, tasty and cheap.

One of the small joys in my life is visiting a McDonalds in a new country, I’ve been in them all over the place and it’s always interesting to see the different menus.

I’m not sure what you’re mimicking but since we’re talking fast food, WTF is up with the latest KFC ads featuring the Colonel? Are they purposely having him laugh that way Jon Stewart does when he is imitating George Bush laughing?! It’s hideous and I love KFC and now I don’t know what to do.

I may be wrong, but I assumed he was mimicking the Colonel in the new ads.

On another note, they have a 2.50 double cheeseburger and fries combo this summer

How can they make money on that?

Hello! I’ve got no doubt about myself and I really like the fries and pancakes of Mc Donalds over any other food chains:)

Small fries? Fries are cheap.

I know Burger King got in trouble a few years ago for charging $1 for their Jr. Whopper and franchise owners were losing money on each burger. It’s a lot more now.

I doubt McDonald’s will charge a rate to lose money for themselves or their owners.

When I’m in the mood for fast food, it’s McDonald’s. It boils down to the fries. I love Wendy’s burgers, but their fries disappoint. I love McDonald’s fries, but I just like their burgers. Love + meh < Love + like.

Plus, coke products. I know I can get a Coke or Sprite there, and don’t have to worry about a nasty Pepsi product touching my lips.

I love Chicken McNuggets. I don’t care if they’re 100 percent beaks and assholes, they are delicious and the perfect consistency.

They lost a little bit when they switched to all white meat, but I still love them. I haven’t tried it yet because I eat them all in the car on the way home, but I’m thinking mayonnaise sandwich with two McNuggets for the bread.

Yeah Mikkie Ds fans!

I love all kinds of fast food, including Ray’s Steakhouse.

For breakfast I always get the bacon egg and cheese bagel, but I sub canadian bacon for regular and I just love it. Lunch/dinner is usually a Double Quarter Pounder with cheese, but I’ll get nuggets too cuz you can’t beat 10 of em for 2 bucks.

Mc D’s is also up there for me because when Ms. Cups and I first started hanging out we would go get Ice Cream and/or McFlurries when one of us had a bad day.
