I figure I’d be much more likely to get a response if school was in (especially if it were close to exams), but I thought to ask anyway~
I’m working on a rush project—about a hundred or so pages of gobbledygook I need to make comprehensible and purdy by Friday. Two other unexpected reports came in this week, and my Ma is arriving tomorrow for the weekend (we’re taking her to our Thursday night class and then a drum circle on Saturday – go mom!), so I need to get through as much as possible to free up what time I can.
So, anyone else out there in Caffeineachusetts?

I’m planning on pulling an all-nighter tonight. It’s just past lunchtime and I know I should get it done ASAP, but I’ve got motivation issues. It’s already past the due date, it’s the end of semester for me, and this paper is only worth 10%. So easy to talk myself into just going for a nap now.

My paper is a close study of an Ancient Egyptian artefact. I’ve decided to go with a fish shaped palette from the Predynastic era. It’s interesting, but I regret choosing Egyptian Arcaeology as a subject because I’m not going to pursue it at all after this semester.
I’ve got a third shift job with about thirty minutes worth of actual work to do in each eight-hour shift, so I’m up all night every night, this one being no exception.
Well, thank goodness I’m not at the major thesis stage, but I’ll be getting hit with weekly essays about such fascinating topics as network topologies as well as writing exciting narrative and process essays about IT topics that frankly, I don’t want to think about right now because I’ll want to gouge out my wrist veins with a rusty spoon.
My wife is studying zoology and I’m so fucking jealous of the stuff she gets to study while hardly having to write at all.
Her to me: “What are you doing this week?”
“Writing two papers. What are you doing this week?”
“Petting llamas and shoveling dung. Want some for the garden?”
“I hate you.”
I pulled an all-nighter and then a near-all-nighter (two hours of sleep) earlier this week to finish off a blanket I was making for someone. Tonight? I think not.
Depending on how busy it is here tonight, I pull all-nighters most nights. Someone has to keep the lab open (damn people for bleeding to death at odd hours).
