And the Redskins don’t play in Washington, and the Bills don’t play in Buffalo, and the Cowboys don’t play in Dallas. So your question is a good one: What difference does it make?
This whole area is a suburb of NYC. At 8.6 miles, East Rutherford is as close to Manhattan as the Bronx, and significantly closer than Queens.
Orchard Park. (The Cowboys play in Irving.)

It doesn’t bother me with the Jets, since they were originally only meant to play at Giants Stadium for a couple of seasons while they worked out where to build their own stadium
You may not be aware that the Jets moved into Giants Stadium in 1984, a mere 8 years after the doors opened.
EDIT: Saw a factoid that said Giants Stadium is 6.9 miles from Times Square, compared to Yankee Stadium which is 6.6.

I am, aware, but I thought they were supposed to break ground on a “Jets Stadium” in 1986, and then never did.
I hate when the Royals do a “throwback” game and wear KC Monarchs uniforms. Red looks terrible on the Royals.
