Anyone else watch The Soup?

It’s so weird it has now moved to Wendesdays. It’s such an “end of the week” kind of show, moving it to Wed. has been really weird.

I’ve been watching since Joel Mchale started it back up. I watched as far back as Jon Henson(not Greg Kinnear), though. It was daily then, though.

For the past few years, I’ve assumed Joel will leave. He seems committed, though. It takes about 30 minutes to film, so I guess he just goes with it. If he does quit, I hope Jon Henson comes back.

Anyone else watch? Find it weird that it has moved?

Love it to pieces, watch it all the time. Most people watch it time-shifted anyways, as far as habits go, although it is a little weird since celeb gossip/assorted trashy things are a Monday to Friday thing. Poor Joel :(. One minute he’s on top of the world…

I watch it regularly. It’s the only reason that I’m familiar with pop cultural items like the Kardashians.

Started watching Talk Soup with Greg Kinnear. Watched Hal Sparks, and John Henson and Aisha Tyler.

The Soup is must viewing. Sure, it’s uneven and the now canceled The Dish and especially InfoMania sometimes were funnier and harder-hitting. McHale is mailing it in now that he’s so famous.

Doesn’t matter. It’s my window to the 99% of television I don’t watch. The End Times on a weekly basis. I love my Kardashian fix.

But where’s Kendra? I miss her.

I think McHale is giving the same level of performance that he’s always given.

Back when it was Talk Soup I liked Aisha Tyler the best. I never realized just how lame the jokes were until she left for a week or two vacation and had guest hosts. It made me realize that she had the power to make lame jokes seem really funny.

So if McHale ever leaves, I’d want him to be replaced with Tayler.

I’ve watched it since Kinnear was host.

The move to Wednesday is dumb.

I use to love it. But ever since Joel landed his Community gig, it’s like he’s just phoning it in.
I got half way through tonight’s episode, before changing channels.
Also,
I really hate the celebrity walk-ons. It started with one now and then. Now, it’s several in one episode.

Oh crap, I forgot it was on tonight . Thank goodness for my DVR .

The Soup is not so much just a show, as it is the fucking voice of reason! The level of preposterous-ness and political correctness that people in the media seem to just accept as the norm nowadays requires a show like The Soup. At least for anyone with half a brain!

And though I loved it too, I never though The Dish was particularly better than The Soup. It was best described as a ‘chick’ version of it. I don’t mean that in a demeaning way, it just put a little more emphasis on fashion & modeling. Much like Sports Soup was a guy version emphasizing sports. Both Danielle Fishel and Matt Isman were great hosts who definitely ‘got’ the joke (i.e. we’re laughing *at *them, not *with *them!).

I wish Web Soup would play all year instead of having seasons. I loved it when Allison Brie (from Community) would go on this show and get humiliated and run off shouting,* “I’m telling Joel!”*

God, I’m sick of the walk-ons. I asked my wife last night if they just couldn’t find enough material for a full episode because 40% of the show was a commercial for Community/The League/Parks & Rec.

I DVR it and love it. McHale makes me laugh like no one else on TV. And I usually enjoy the walk-ons.

It surprised me, but by the end I thought the jokes on The Dish were generally funnier than The Soup. Too many of The Soup’s lines are predictable or stupidly mean instead of pointedly mean.

Sports Soup has a good line every show, but is mostly meh.

The ideal would be for Conor Knighton of InfoMania to take over. InfoMania went off a cliff when he left “to do other things.” He’s done nothing, not even update his own website since February.

It’s introduced me to all sorts of great shows!

I do use it as my education source as well. I had no idea these shows existed before I watched The Soup.

I love the Soup, and have been watching it since it was Talk Soup. Whenever I’m channel surfing I’m always disappointed if it’s not on, especially if E! is showing those damn Kardashians instead.

Love the show. I consider this and Tosh.0 to be pretty similar in style and commentary that I watch both almost religiously.

I watched Kinnear religiously, and Henson regularly. Then it was hit or miss, so I missed out on almost all of the other hosts. We DVR it now with Joel, and have for the last year or so.

Love love love The Soup.

He’s hosting a show called “My Viral Video”, it’s another Youtube clip show.

As for The Soup, it does seem to have lost its charm recently. Too many walk-on plugs. But they are somewhat at the mercy of the content providers to give them good stuff to riff on

Problem I always had is that you can’t watch it online. That’s where all the people who like making fun of TV hang out nowadays.

The Soup has its own Website now.
