Anyone ever heard of "Amina"?

A little while ago I was perusing You Tube and stumbled upon a 29-minute & 12-second video called “Amina Iceland TV performance.” (Sorry for not giving you a link, still trying to figure this Mac out  .)

Gosh, all I can say is that those young ladies sure are talented!!

Have you ever heard of 'em?

Nope. Upon searching, that gal in the blue dress plays a mean saw.

I have heard them and of them - cause they toured as opening and supporting act for Sigur Ros

I’ve seen them! Twice. Once while they were on tour with Sigur Ros. The concert was at an outdoor venue and it was absolutely pouring with rain so that was a little odd*, and then again this saturday, which was in a much better venue. They are absolutely astonishingly talented. The way in which their set was co-ordinated blew me away. They switch instruments during songs and have just a crazy number of really cool things going on. The encore was probably the most straightforward piece of the evening and that was the four of them playing saw-blades. They had a full string quartet of what I was told were Zeta instruments, basically an electric string quartet. The music was really fascinating, building layers of sound. Occasionally it was almost overwhelming. They’re on tour in the States right now so if you get a chance they’re really worth seeing!
*Oh my gosh though. Amiina and Sigur Ros… it was an amazing concert, even though it was kind of an endurance event because we were all huddled together, soaking wet, trying to stay warm.

Thanks for that link. They have some real talent. The execution is a little precious for me at times, but when they nail the “ethereal” vibe, they really nail it.
