We’ve been thinking about career growth at our house and the lack of opportunity advancement in some ways … but … eh. Random job searching on the web isn’t doing much.
I know there are still a lot of good, unemployed people out there, as well. The folks I’ve met recently as ‘new hires’ have been out of work for a while, some of them, before their and our need matched up to bring them here.
And at Ramit’s place, whenever they have ads out for technical people, they get a lot of decent resumes, as well.
However, we’ve been looking, personally, for alternative employment, and the usual methods aren’t working.
So I’ve been trying to find us someone somewhat technical to review our skills (tech writer, sys admin, security guru (a little new but working skill set up) and revamp the resumes to get more call backs (they have been standard text book resumes so far) and after call backs to get better at the interviewing part of it - practicing asking and answering questions, looking more like the candidate they are looking for.
We gots the goods but presentation is lacking.
So, anyone worked with one, know how to find one - interview coach and resume whipper- upper? We’ve been working with recruiters, but most of them are just looking for warm bodies to shove through the system.
