Anyone for a Chidope 2008?

Crossing my fingers…I need to find out if thr house in Chicago will be available. (It probably will be.) If it is, just someone leave an address or two for the initial meet-up place. I’ll burn up there either on MegaBus or Amtrak if I get he all-clear tomorrow (later today, technically).

I’m the long-haired hippie freak with a cowboy hat.

Okay, the reservation is done. Luckily for me, they didn’t ask for a deposit.

I’ve reserved two lanes, plus let them know we’ll have some people there who aren’t bowling but will be heckling. At my count, we’ve got between 10 and 15 people, 10 or 11 of whom are bowling.

Here’s the list as I read it.

So that’s 12 people, 10 of whom plan to bowl and 2 of whom plan to hang out and heckle us for our bad bowling.

I figure there are about 3 people who are unconfirmed at this point, but are likely to attend. There are about 7 more who are unconfirmed and seem unlikely to attend.

The reservation is, once again, under the name Adams. It’s at 7pm.

Anyone who would like to meet earlier is welcome to arrange it. I think The Them would like to have that, and ExTank and Boyo Jim are also out of towners who might need entertaining.

Post here or PM me if you have any other questions or concerns.

Does the bowling alley have a parking lot? If not, what is the parking situation?

Okee-doke, didn’t want to post untl I had all my giant mutant ducks in a row.
The house is available, so I can make it! Just to triple check:

Habetler Bowl, 7PM, 31st. Possible earlier meetup places across street: American Science & Surplus, Paterno’s Pizza

I’ll get into Union Station on Friday afternoon and walk to the house. After that, I’ll entertain myself until the big event. Haven’t been to Chicago in a while, so that should be fun!

Uhhh…I’ve never used the PM function. It’s on, as far as I can tell.

They’ve got a big parking lot.

I’m out (though I don’t think I was officially in for sure.) Next time around, I hope!

I’ve booked a room at the Esquire Motel; suggestively, $69 per night.

I thought about staying with the registered sex offenders at the Irving, but…

Yay! The Them and Boyo Jim are officially in!

As for pizza ahead of time, I did tell the bowling alley that we’d probably want pizza. I don’t think we have to have it, but they’re thinking we probably will.

Also, moving sucks. That’s kind of random and unrelated, but it’s still true.

I’m going to the Museum of Science on Saturday; it’s open 9:30 - 4:00, so I’ll be heading for the bowling alley around 4-ish.

I can be contacted at my alternate e-mail: robert.sutton@mt.com

Hey - is it alright if my wife tags along? Her other plans fell through.

Mooch, that should be fine. I told them between 10 and 15 people, so we’re good. We’ve got two lanes reserved, but I suspect if we need a third it’ll be fine.

Please, bring your wife! The more the merrier, as far as I’m concerned.

ExTank, the reservations at the alley aren’t until 7pm. I suppose if enough people want to go to the museum, we can do that and then pizza elsewhere in between, but people have got to chime in reasonably quickly with that. I don’t think we’re required to do pizza at the bowling alley, though I did tell them I thought we would. What time do you think you’ll be arriving at the Museum?

What are people’s thoughts?

Well, my thoughts are that you did a great job of planning this and it sounds like a really fun time, but since I’m not going, my thoughts don’t matter much.

Hey, don’t kid yourself eleanorigby. Anyone who compliments me has thoughts that matter.

I’ll probably be around after 4 or 5pm tomorrow, maybe earlier if I a) get motivated and get my errands done early or b) sleep late, get lazy and ditch the errands altogether. With the forecast quite favorable, I can see myself hopping on my bike and ‘forgetting’ the muffler shop altogether…

Anyway, anyone who’s in the area early is free to contact me. PM or email at my username at hotmail.

Thanking BlueKangaroo for planning, out of towners for traveling and eleanorigby for compliments.

So maybe this is a little late, but I’m kind of interested in checking this place out. I see from the website that it closes at 6.

Which means getting there at 5-ish, and then what to do between 6 and the bowling thing at 7.

Any ideas? Any joiners in?

I may well be there, but it depends on what time I get back from the zoo tomorrow. If people would like to meet me at or near the Brookfield Zoo, I’d be happy to do so, but I imagine no one would want to go there.

I expect to be back in plenty of time, but I don’t know.

Maybe I’ll play with any toys I buy in the parking lot till showtime at the bowl.

If I mix the wrong things and blow up the universre before the party, apologies in advance.

That sleep felt good. Now, I’m off to an all-night eatery (looks like White Palace is the closest) and hit the bowling alley @ 4 or 5ish. Or the vicinity of the bowling alley; this science place sounds neat. Doesn’t matter, I’m an expert at amusing myself.
To echo eleanorrigby, thanks to BlueKangaroo!

Indeed, we needed a cat herder to take charge.

See everyone later.

Huh. You sound actually really close to where I live for the next four days. I have to head up to the Zoo today, but if you’d like to travel together to the bowling Alley, let me know. I think I’ll be back at Union Station around 4pm.

So, uh, if you check the boards between 8am and 9am, central, PM me and we’ll see if we can arrange something. You’re also welcome to come to the zoo with me, but I can’t find my free passes, so I probably couldn’t get you in for free.
