I’m not sure if this should be in IMHO or MPSIMS, but I thought I’d start it out here.
On Sunday, April 25, Oklahoma City will be having the annual Memorial runs, which include the marathon, 2 and 5 people relays, a “fun” 5k, and a kid’s marathon.
I thought this might be a good opportunity for a mini Dopefest for anyone who would be in the area.
Is anyone interested?
Just a little bump (the only one, I promise!).
I also wanted to clarify that the run thing isn’t required, I just thought more people might be around/willing to travel for the event instead of a random weekend.
I live in Stillwater but the closest I see myself getting to OKC in the next few months is Medfair in Norman in April.

I also didn’t know if any of our running Dopers would be going to the Memorial runs, so I thought I’d take advantage of that.
My main running buddy was thinking about running either the OKC or Memphis marathons in April. Alas, he is not a doper.
The OKC marathon has been getting A LOT of great press in running circles lately. Good for them!

Norman Doper here! I’m sure nobody has a clue who I am, but I’ve been around this board since AOL days, so I’d definitely be up for a Dope-fest. The running? Eh, not so much, unfortunately.
Only possible problem is that my sister might be going into labor around that time, so I might have to pull out at the last minute.

I’ll probably be moving from McLoud to OKC next weekend, but what the heck. The last Okladope was incredible fun and only four of us showed up. Suggest details for the meet; I’ve driven past the memorial hundreds of times but have never stopped to look around (although I did get an unofficial, unguided tour of the Journal Record building in June, 1995 since a good friend was the supervisor of the guard company down there). If parking is a problem, the lot across from our old shop on NE 8th Street just east of the Santa Fe tracks is likely to be empty and is only 4-5 blocks from the memorial. Go east on 8th from Broadway across the tracks and you’ll see a large gravel lot on the north side (left).
If parking is a total mess, we can park at our new shop at NW 5th and Penn and I can figure out some kind of park and ride from there.
