Anyone got an ice scraper?

Imagine going to your car in the morning and finding this.

Check out the whole page of pics - a combination of 70mph wind whipping up waves on Lake Geneva and extremely cold temperatures make for some amazing scenes. Scroll right to the bottom of that page for an even chunkier coating of ice on an automobile…

If it will let me link directly to images… this one is astounding.

I actually have one I’m not using.

I used to live in Geneva, although not for long, but I’ve been there in the winter several times. I can’t imagine it getting like that. It’s usually more just rainy and cold. At least they have plenty of fondue and raclette to keep themselves warm. 70 mph winds. Wow.

Wow.

Reminds me of an ice storm I once had to deal with. Witchita Falls, TX – 1973.

Never wanna have to deal with it again …

There was a similar scene in a coastal Massachussetts town the other day.

Subzero temeratures and sea spray lead to to pretty impressive icing.

Imagine sending that picture to your boss with a note:
Uh, sorry boss, I don’t think I’ll be in to work until April.

Actually, I might have to try that some time.

I put the picture of the frozen bench and spray on my computer so I won’t feel so pissy about this forcast for my area of Florida today:

Light Rain 61°F
Feels Like
61°F

I hate you… :stuck_out_tongue:

It was -31 below the other morning at my place. Farenheight. At least I don’t have two inches of solid ice on my car, though.

I’m still waiting for some decent winter weather in this country. So far we’ve had about half a dozen frosts all winter, and two five-minuite sleety rain showers. That’s the sum total of winter so far.

I want to see some SNOW, dammit!
