Anyone Got Free Kitties?

I want me a couple kitties. Is there anyone in the Detroit area that happens to have a couple kitties that need a place to be spoiled forever?

While I’m neither in the Detroit area, nor do I have extra kittens, but I have a suggestion. Try the “Free” area on craigslist.com

If you can make it to Vegas, our clinic has about 10 free kitties

Hm. Thanks for the suggestions. I’m making gonzomax look it up on craigslist.com. It’s his first foray ever into that site. It’ll be good for him.

Nothing on craigslist!

Damn you, Craig!

If I can find a shred-proof envelope, they are yours

Try petfinder.com. They had some cuties.

I’m a damned complete fool. I forgot all about petfinder.

That’s where we got our last puppy, a pre-owned, abused beagle we named Nordberg.

Here she is, in the process of being spoiled . That’s my hand holding the rawhide she’s chewing on. She likes to make dad and me hold a stupid bone while she chews on it, even when we’re at the computer.

Here’s Nordberg’s usual greeting .

I’m not near Detroit, but if someone can tell me how to safely ship 'em, I’d be more than happy to let you have a couple of kittens.

See if you have a local Freecycle list. I’ve seen critters offered there for free also.

With spay, chipping, worming, first shots and whatnot, my “free” kitten ended up costing me at least three times what my humane society kitten cost up front. Go to the pound and get your kitten there, it will be much cheaper in the long run.

Check out local veterinarian offices, too. That’s where I got Pepper.

If you were in the north Atlanta area, I’d hook you up. We have a kitten that we rescued about four weeks ago and because of my allergies, he’s not working out quite as well as I had optimistically hoped. We love him well enough and are not going to just drop him off at the vet, but if there was a good home for him, we would certainly consider it. By the way, our three year old son named him, he is called ‘Batman’.

I have two irresistable bundles of joy in Tucson. Black/white and white/black. They’re brother and sister, eight weeks old, and formerly feral, although you could never tell now, what with the romping and the purring and the frolicking. Smart as the dickens and cute to boot. They’re terrific friends, and I’m trying to find a home for both of them.

Yep. The society here gave me a big discount at their vet’s for getting my two fostered kittens fixed and checked up. I swapped vets over to my current one with no problem.

The cat I just adopted “cost” me a monetary donation, but I didn’t mind because he’s already trained, flealess, freshly dewormed and completely vaccinated. Even his claws had recently been trimmed.

I had been thinking about adopting a new cat, went into PetSmart to talk to the weekly adoption people about what kind of cat would fit my situation (1 roommate with a not-so-social run-and-hide cat) and they immediately said “This guy over here would be great!”

He’s healthy, fun to be around, and has now been named Lysander.

I’m sure there’s some shelters/rescue organizations in your area that have plenty of cats like him waiting for a home.
