Anyone Have a Recipie For Bananas Foster Pie?

I was just on vacation in Mrytle Beach, and me and my significant other went to eat at the Mad Boar Tavern on one night. The entrees were nothing less than excellent (broiled scallops, meatloaf made from Angus Sirloin) but the dessert was a fantastic Bananas Foster Pie.

It was so good that we returned a second time just to have it for dessert after eating our main dinner at a nearby restaurant.

The significant other is a baking/pastry/dessert fanatic, and has made traditional Bananas Foster on many occasions, but was overjoyed to find it reinvented as a pie. She’s been combing the Net for recipies for it, but has come up short.

So…does anyone out there have a recipie? I’ll describe as best as I can: it was a two-layer pie, the bottom later being angel food cake and the upper later being a creamed version of Bananas Foster. The crust was made with pecans and the whole thing was topped with pastry cream and shaved almonds and what tasted like Godiva chocolate liquer.

The significant other is prepared to wing it and improvise, but wanted a actual recipie to reference. Any info out there?

Gail’s Recipe Swap has one.

Oh. Don’t forget to click on the responses in that link. There are other recipes, including one for Bananas Foster Chimichangas.
