I just wondered if Dopers have it and, if so, what they think of it.
So far, I’m tending towards positive. I’d be a raving fan if they had the much-discussed schedule grid (trademark / licensing issues, I believe) and a “power user” interface, rather than forcing the user to wade through the cartoony, Fisher-Price interface.
I love that it can pause, rewind and record HD, as well as digital and analog cable (up-converted to digital).
I like its ease of use - my gf doesn’t constantly ask me to “tape” things for her, since she can now do it herself.
I like that it can record two channels at once, while watching previously recorded content.
I don’t like the limited space, lack of a grid (grrr!) and lack of menu shortcuts. Channel changing is also horribly slow.
