Any dopers play StoneKeep? It was, alas, a technological failure. By the time it had been completed, the market had well surpased its technology. But I loved the game. It was, I dunno, whimsical. I’m looking for a game that has that same feel, but is of course much better on the technology side of things. Does such a game exist?
I dont know about anybody else, but I have stonekeep=) I still go back and play it now and then=)
Heck, Ill fess up that I dust off my amiga and give Eye of the Beholder 1, 2 and 3 an occasional weekend of play=)
Honestly though, I prefer to play MMORPGs online…I gave up paper and dice RPGs for games like Eye of the Beholder and Stonekeep because I didnt have to try and scare up a group to play with, and without action by me, there was no cheating=) When you were out of food, ammo or mana, the computer knew
I gave up PC games when I discovered EQ1 … all the fun of D&D with live people, still couldn’t cheat with respect to food/mana/health and there were people playing 7/24=) If you want to be truely honest, other than my husband, roomies and some friends, if I don’t have a job [like right now, and for the last 2 years] I would not come into contact with many people…EQ1 and World of Warcraft keep me from being totally isolated [since hubby has the car, I am effectively housebound when he is at work unless I take him 75 miles to work, putter around with the car, then pick him up and drive the 75 miles back home. Way too much gas in our seriously money tight state right now.]
