Anyone know the stories behind the sand animation vid?

This Youtube video <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=518XP8prwZo> appears to be based on WWII and the history of the people of the Ukraine. But, what in particular is the woman illustrating, and what are the songs that are played that bring tears to peoples’ eyes, and what is the nature of the setting of that performance? It looks as if it could even be some sort of knock off of one of our goofy talent shows, but with performers making people cry?

Fantastic.

Art, performance, and soul.

Same show had a belly dancer on it.

Thread with more details over here.

Do a Google search for “Kseniya Simonova” to find some articles about the artist and her work, and her appearance on “Ukraine’s Got Talent” (yup! The Ukranian version of “America’s Got Talent”)

The song that plays at the end is Apocalyptica’s cover of Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters.” I don’t know what the song in the middle when the bombs drop is, but it sounds like them too.

That one is Harmageddon, also by Apocalyptica (but I think it’s original, not a Metallica cover.)

Which is the American version of “Britain’s Got Talent!”, if I’m not mistaken…
