I’ve seen this video on various “Top Five Scariest Things Caught On Video” and similar YouTube clickbait. Supposedly it comes from a hotel in Illinois, Arizona, California, or any number of other places.
I’m not going to claim that the video is real (I’m pretty sure it wasn’t, but since I wasn’t there that night I can’t say for sure). I’m just trying to get to the bottom of its origin. Was it a part of a viral marketing campaign or something? Some “found footage” movie that never made it past screening at Sundance? A hoax put together by some guy in his basement editing studio?
