Anyone not want to see House of Wax just because...

Paris Hilton is in it?

I know one person like that, what a stupid reason not to see a movie.

I saw House of Wax…definitely worth the ticket price if you like being scared.

Well, yeah. I don’t.

Floyd, What’s wrong with you…in the movie you see Paris Hilton’s butt and lower torso.

I actually saw the movie because of Paris Hilton so maybe that is an equally stupid reason…but I ended up liking it a lot.

Meh, I suppose it seems like a good enough movie, in terms of scariness, but I’m not about to go run to the theater to see it.

I’m saving my dough for Hitchhiker’s Guide once I rack up a few of my fellow nerds to accompany me.

I think a dislike of an actor is a perfectly reasonable explanation for not wanting to see a movie. In the case of Paris Hilton why would I want to see a movie where they cast a no talent whore?

Marc

Take that back!!! Paris is my fantasy girlfriend not a no talent whore.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Is it actually a good movie, though? Good parts, bad parts? I’m not looking expressly for spoilers, but I’d like to know if it’s worth the $15 to see it at the cinema, or if it’s a ‘Wait for PPV’ type dealy.

A no-talent whore. :stuck_out_tongue:

I paid less than half of that price but yes it is worth 15 dollars.

It gets off to a somewhat slow START but after that you will be jumping out of your seat every other minute. It’s really gory and if you want to be creeped out this movie will do it.

Also you care about the characters so you will be literally on the edge of your seat hoping that at least one of them makes it alive out of the strange small town they have stumbled into.

I see every Horror movie that comes out and I think this one beat them all in terms of Grossness and the best way to see this movie is in a dark theater on a big screen.

Cools. I’ll see if I can get in to see it on one of my days off.

The $15 for the ticket is what I pay in Aus-land, so you’re about right with the half-price comment there. Our money’s not worth much

I actually think she’s a fairy attractive woman but she’s stupid, immature, and has no talent other then being an heiress. I’ll actively avoid any program that features her as an attraction. Unless she starts biting the heads off of chickens or something.

Marc

What?! You could cut a roast on that face!

On a related note, I am going to see it, just because

she dies.

Hmmm… to see it or not to see it…

On the ‘con’ side… Paris Hilton is in it. :dubious:

On the ‘pro’ side… Elisha Cuthbert is in it

On the ‘con’ side… most of the reviewers said it’s a pretty sorry excuse for a slasher film.

I think I’ll stay away from that one, at least until it’s out on DVD.

As a PS, I thought it was interesting how many reviews seemed to say that one out of Paris and Elisha was so awful as to make the other look good by comparison, or some such thing.

Just dropping by to say that not liking one of the main actors is certainly one reason I would avoid paying full price to see a film. If it got good reviews I might consider renting it. But ususally actors/actresses I hate are pretty consistent in their effect on me.

2 Cons
No Vincent Price
Not in 3D

To say this movie is gory, is an understatement. Hell, my own statement is an understatement. After the third incident of spurting blood, I left and went to see The Interpreter instead. Upon leaving the theater after witnessing the machine gun murders, I decided it just wasn’t for movies. :frowning:

I second this sentiment.

Two more cons:

MTV made a “series” about the fabulous life and times of the actors working on this movie, which says “desperate promotional vehicle for a turkey” to me.

Oh, and a real actor was short-changed out of potential work so that Paris Hilton could be used to lure in the 13-year-old male audience. That also says “desperate promotional vehicle for a turkey” to me.

Gore and things jumping around are overrated, IMO. Have you seen Shaun of the Dead yet? The first half and last few scenes of that movie are what I’d consider really good horror.

I thought it was a comedy…obviously did NOT see. I’m curious to see what you mean.

I don’t though I don’t really have an urge to see it anyway. The only reason I’ve had to far to see it is to see Paris Hilton die.

Granted, there are ways to see that without actually putting any money into her pockets…
