Just heard on the news this morning that a film starring Paris Hilton premiered this weekend:
111 screens; total weekend take: a whopping $25,000 !
I like to think that I keep up on movie releases, but I never even heard about this. Did anyone?

She’s been in a few movies. House of Wax and The Hills were even starring roles.
Wow. I saw that poster online somewhere, and I thought it was a parody. I’ll rush right out to miss that one.
Entertaining review of it here:
It actually got a rare F.
They had to work hard to make Christine Lakin homely. She is hot.
While I’m not doubting its a bad film, my guess is there is an obvious Gigli-esque pile-on at work with the dozen or so metacritic reveiws giving it an average of 6 (out of 100)- substitue any other actress for PH and they wouldn’t be as savage. For comparison, literally the worst movie I have seen out of thousands, Strange Wilderness, is averaging a 12 on the same scale.
The only reason I knew about it was that she wore something stupid to the premiere and Go Fug Yourself caught it.
Well, substitute any other actress for PH and it would be (a) better acted, or (b) released straight to DVD.
I personally don’t have any problem believing it’s really that bad.
Wow! I think that beats It’s Pat! for the record of the worst opening box office ever.
Hilarious.
No, worst box office (opening or otherwise) ever is Zyzzyx Road. Total gross: $30.
The review itself didn’t strike me as being nearly as harsh as it could have been, but the last line was very rewarding.
IMDB has it with an unbelievable rating of 1.2 out of 10. No way the rating could be that high.
While there’s no doubt this movie is awful, Paris is actually in another movie coming out in April that I’m looking forward to, in spite of her. It’s a horror-musical called Repo: The Genetic Opera, and she’s appearing (singing and all) alongside Anthony Stewart Head (who played Giles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and who is also a hell of a singer), Sarah Brightman, and Paul Sorvino.
My, how she’s fallen from the days when 1 Night in Paris won Best Overall Marketing Campaign - Individual Project, Best Renting Title of the Year, and Best Selling Title of the Year.
The question I have is why they even bothered with a theatrical release. True a lot of bad movies get shown in theaters. But if you have a movie with a tiny promotional budget, no good reviews, and a very limited release why don’t you just go straight to DVD? The money they spent on printing and shipping film probably cost more than the theatrical take.
That’s pretty amazing.
