Hey, do any of you remember ever seeing a movie back in the late 80s early 90’, where these kids/teens go overseas and they are the only ones who can rescue their dads from a POW camp? I know it sounds horrible. Just help me out, willya?
Iron Eagle? Just one kid, and he’s in an F-16, but he did have to rescue his father from the movie version of Colonel Ghaddafi.
No, not that one. In this movie, it was a group of young people. One of them wore an American flag t-shirt.
Oh, I think I know the movie you’re talking about. It came out roughly around the same as Red Dawn, but I think the kids were all younger. It’ll come to me, it’ll come to me!
(It was on some channel I got through the bunny ears a few months ago.)
I think I remember the movie, but not the title. As I recall the dads were navy seals stationed in south korea. They get captured while on an operation and sent to a prison in north korea. when the government refuses to green light the resuce plan the kids go in.
Its actually not quite as bad as it sounds. The kids are all in their late teens. When they get into north korea they make contact with north koreans working for the cia who do most of the actual work. Once the kids get to the prison they arm the dads who then shoot their own way out.
It was a fun movie and one of my favorites growing up.
Oh, I think it’s The Rescue. It has the guy who played “Skippy” on Family Ties. The dads are Navy Seals sent to sink a disabled sub, the kids go to rescue them.
Yep. I remember the movie quite fondly. The kids escape in a North Korean cargo plane. After crossing into South Korea, American planes swoop in to shoot it down, the youngest kid climbs up to a top hatch and pops out and flashes his Springstein “Born in the USA” shirt and that let’s the pilots know the plane is full of friendlies.
I haven’t seen the movie in forever…but man I loved it when I was 9 years old.
