Anyone seen one of these computer mouse accessories of late?

This is in GQ because I’d like to actually buy one, not just get an opinion on it.

The gadget is for cleaning out a bog standard roller and ball mouse. It looks like a tiny golf ball stuck on a small stick, you remove the ball from the mouse, pop this gadget inside and it cleans off the rollers.

I last saw it in a PC magazine a few years back, recommended by the writers, but since then nothing.

Sorry. I haven’t even seen ball mouse for sale in years. The gadget you are looking for would probably cost more than optical mouse cost nowadays, and so I think they are out of market. Maybe some vintage computer shop have them, but I doubt it.

Is it similar? Note shipping cost, though.

Probably :stuck_out_tongue:

The thing in your link looks more spongy, this thing was solid and did resemble a golf ball.

I have one like that. It’s a solid ball wrapped in a Velcro type material. It works well on cleaning the rollers of mice. You put the cleaning ball in place of the mouse ball and roll the mouse around on the other Velcro pad. The ball inside is forced to turn from the Velcro on Velcro action of the ball and pad. The roller’s are clean and it’s quick. That $4 kit works well. You get two common sized balls that should do most mice. The balls have the little hooks of the Velcro on them. The pad has the fuzzy part on it.
