Anyone up for a Diplomacy game?

Make me!

I’m in your house, spraying “RUSSIA SUCKS!” graffiti on your walls!

Is anyone else being extremely careful about what they post in this forum?

Nope. Not at all. Why would I be careful?

So, is your zeppelin corps ready to come to my rescue?

Well that was interesting.

More interesting for some people than for others.

Well, it’s Fall '02, and I still don’t know who is allied with whom. In the West, France convoys an army off the continent onto English soil despite the continuing presence of that German army in her territory. And France will need to cooperate with Germany to dispatch England quickly and efficiently, so why is that army still in Burgundy? Good news is that Fleet Belgium will block Germany from really threatening Paris anytime soon, it’s just an odd way to express your solidarity with an ostensible ally.

Russia may only get Norway for her trouble if she is still allied with Germany. England is now in serious trouble.

In the East, similar confusion abounds. Austria has now acted aggressively in two straight turns against Russia and now Turkey. The Archduke may very well finish off Italy without help, and the lack of a Turkish fleet in or around the Med will severely hamper Ottoman efforts to expand in Austria’s direction, but really Rumania should be in the hands of either Russia or Turkey by now, esp. given the latter’s move away from their common border this turn.

Odd, unpredictable game but fun to watch.

Press Release:

SOUTHAMPTON, ENGLAND
In an echo of the 1066 Norman invasion of England, convoyed French troops landed on the undefended coast to the west of Southampton. The Army then moved to occupy the rest of southwestern England and Wales. A Fleet also sailed into the Irish Sea. A small band of singing orphan-pirates was seen sailing between the two French fleets, heading towards Cornwall.

Meanwhile, German troops continue to drink too much wine during their holiday in Burgundy. French Minister garygnu told a political rally today that the Germans should be leaving soon, but refused to give a timetable for the withdrawal.

Y’all waiting on retreat paths to get declared now?

Maybe even waiting for new builds. All two of them.

It is a peace keeping mission. We promise to withdraw as soon as all European fighting ceases.

Press Release:

SOME RANDOM FJORD
The infamous and unexpected hospitality of the Norwegian people has resulted in the Russian army voting overwhelmingly to extend their Northern sojourn until Christmas. Soldiers have been seen enjoying pony trekking or camping, or just watching TV.

Wait - that’s Finland (poor second to Belgium when going abroad)…

Message ends.

Breaking news!

In preparation for greeting their new French overlords, the English monarchy has been encouraging the citizens of London and Edinburgh to practice cooking various sauces that all look like semen, and being very rude to foreigners.

TV? In 1902? Ok, Senator Biden… whatever you say.

I’m sure that Austrian army in Venice just didn’t follow the streetsigns correctly - it’s hell figuring out the town names and directions in Yugoslavia with all those consonants. The Italians should just let them take a break.

Press Release:

All quiet on the western front…

The Russian build of an Army in Warsaw is interesting. Austria may have to call off its dissection of Italy.

France and Germany are looking pretty good right now, esp. if the East devolves into a series of stalemates. The Bear has enough weight to throw around now that he can’t be discounted tho.

Spring 1903 orders are in…

England is dead, and Germany and France are clear-cut partners. France sure is a trusting soul as that German Army in Burgundy remains and France didn’t even try to cover Paris. England might mount one last-ditch counterattack tho before it is all over.

The East tho…I don’t think I’ve seen such a lack of distrust down there in any game, ever. There simply isn’t any alliance present, or at least one which can make a difference, which basically plays right into Austria’s hands. Perhaps the Archduke has managed to so expertly play Russia and Turkey off of each other that they simply won’t cooperate. Rumania should be Russian next turn tho, and/or there are going to be some really fun guessing games along the Balkan front. Italy is almost as kaput as England and will lose its capital next turn. Poor Turkey has absolutely no offensive options at all right now.

After France and Germany finish off England, things will get very interesting. Good news for Austria is that France will be telegraphing his moves ahead of time as it will take him more than a year to mount any sort of threat in the Med. Interesting that Berlin could have been Russia’s next turn if he moves Sweden into the Baltic (Russia, judging by his moves, is no fool tho and grasps that the Western Alliance will be coming after him next).

I’m not dead, yet!

Awwww, you sweet-talking sweettalker you!!

::flutters eyelashes at Germany and France::

If so, then I’m at a loss to understand EF Norwegian Sea - NAO, completely abandoning Edinburgh.

Italy doesn’t look too healthy, and Rumania is a free-for-all. It seems to me that Russia has a slight lead at this point, and the other four powers are pretty close to each other.
