I haven’t done this for a long time and would be up for it if anyone else was willing to GM. I propose a plain-vanilla version - anyone interested?

We’ve been running an SDMB Diplomacy World championship for quite some time now. Once that’s over, I’m quite up for another game and I imagine many of the players in that one would be too.

Hmm it’s been awhile since I got out of the hobby-I might actually be able to talk myself into
a game. Problem is I find face-to-face Dip to be much more fun than playing on the net, but
it’s hard to find 7 qualified people in the local area, even with the help of a game shop.
If we can drum up 7 players I might be up for it – just so long as I don’t get stuck with Austria again.

Well, after an astounding and incredibly bad first game, I’ve since played a few games IRL, and I’m eager to play again.

One day I’d like to try the Aberration variant – a slightly different map, with 9 different Great Powers based on conjectural changes to history. For example, if the Irish had organized against London, Eire might have become a Great Power instead of England. (Naturally, in such a variant I’d want to play Israel, aka Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem.)
If y’all are interested in a variant I can list what files I have at home when I get back tonight.

I’d prefer plain vanilla, to be honest. It’s been so long since I last played that I can barely remember how to play the *regular * version, let alone any exotic variants.
I’m also more for vanilla dip, but I’ll play a variant if everyone else wants to.
It’s been a couple years since I played, so I as well would really prefer the standard rules/map.
I like the standard map, mostly so I can make fun of whomever gets shafted with Italy, even if it’s me.
