So I’m heading into NYC tomorrow to see Spamalot with a bunch of friends on Saturday night. Someone had to cancel last minute, so now I’ve got one extra ticket. Anyone interested? I promise we’re not too strange a crew, and it’s supposed to be a great show!
In a mildly related appeal, the friend who can’t be there is also the friend I was going to stay with, so I’m going to be homeless Friday through Sunday nights. If anyone has floor/couch for any of those evenings, it would be greatly appreciated. I’ll even cook breakfast or something! I only ask because financially this was a tight trip anyway, and now I’ve got one extra ticket and no place to stay.
So, if anyone is interested in either coming to the show or putting up a doper in not-so-dire need, please let me know! Leave a message here, or my e-mail is in my profile.
and I know, from sitting next to you at some Dopefest, that you’re an okay houseguest-type, but the problems are these:
I’m leaving in a few minutes to give an all-day tour of Long Island (to 112 international Literature scholars, no less) so I won’t get to my e-mail until tonight probably
and my apartment is a wreck (though my daughter’s room, where I’d put you, is fine).
If anyone else wants to provide digs for you, Eonwe, that’s fine. But if you want to come into town, and post here when you get to town (I should be checking my computer after six or seven P.M.). You’ll have to take a subway to Queens, where I can pick you up at the F stop in Forest Hills.
I’ll leave a message with my e-mail in your e-mail as well.
Hm. How much are tickets, anyhow? I was planning on going, and don’t want to go alone, that’s just silly. Spontaneous dopefest! We can sing like viking in the subway!
What’s the deal, Eonwe? Did you get a better offer?
BTW, when I said I’d put you up in my daughter’s room, I hope you understood that my daughter is away at school…that wasn’t a farmer’s daughter-type situation I was describing.
Well, I’m still home in VT (heading out tomorrow instead). I sent you both e-mails; it’s been a long day, but it looks like I’m going to stay at my dad’s a ways up the Hudson. It’ll be more of a pain to take the train in and out of NY for two nights, but this way I don’t have to cart my stuff around the city, nor do I have to impose bizarre vacation hours on folks who aren’t obligated to like me because I’m related.
