Anyone watching In Treatment? (open spoilers)

I just watched the first week of In Treatment’s second season, and wondering if anyone else is watching. Paul is being sued for malpractice by Alex’s father for “letting him” fly. Oh, the irony is thick, considering how much of Alex’s motivation for doing everything he did was to live up to his father’s idea of what a man is. After his failed attempt to connect with Laura, Paul divorced Kate (thank god) and is now living in Brooklyn, with weekends spent in Baltimore with his kids.

Patients:

Mia was a former patient who is now a lawyer working on his malpractice case. Apparently Mia is still angry about how their therapy ended. Not sure how this is going to work out. Will she be his lawyer or his patient, or neither?

April is a 23 year old architecture student at Pratt who just found out she has lymphoma. 5 weeks after diagnosis, she still hasn’t told anyone or considered starting treatment. When Paul urged her to do something, she ran out of the office and won’t return his calls.

Oliver is a little boy whose parents are in the midst of an acrimonious divorce who is being caught in the crossfire. At this point, it really appears like the mom is manipulating Oliver to hurt her ex, who isn’t the most mature guy in the world either.

Walt is an embattled aging CEO (played by John Mahoney, who I love) with serious anxiety issues that are preventing him from sleeping. His beloved youngest child is working in a hospital in Rwanda and he’s terrified about it. He wants a quick fix to the sleep problem (but he can’t take meds) and is leery of therapy. In many ways he reminds me of Alex, only less nasty.

Lastly, Paul visits Gina and is considering starting therapy with her again. He’s feeling embittered and helpless about all the patients he can’t save, which is of course related to his inability to save his mother.

Anyone else watching? What do you think? I’m hooked again after the first week. This seems like a tough bunch.

I watched season two last year, so I’ve forgotten a lot of the details. I always hate the patients in the beginning of the season and then they grow on me. Oliver is the exception, though, I loved him from the start! I’m really looking forward to the new season.
