Benjamin is a very altruistic fellow whose giving nature may indicate an underlying medical problem.
Have we finally seen the end of Thirteen? It would be interesting, assuming this is the final season of House, if she made one last appearance, to allow House to fulfill his promise to her in her final days. Too bad House doesn’t have a trio of women doctors at his beck and call, his ‘Charlies Angels’, though I’m looking forward to Chase coming back. And Taub, if only to see how he’s doing with his babies and baby-mamas.
And I can’t help but think the little half Korea half Filipino doctor would make an excellent ‘Honey’ from the Doonesbury comic strip, if a live action movie of that was ever made.
And I thought Wilson is looking very much thinner than last season,
I didn’t see any of last season, so I’m slightly lost, but this season feels like the show is losing steam. Is it confirmed that this is the last season?
Where has ol’ what’s-his-name from Prison Break been? He put on a few pounds.
Is this the final season?
Even if it is, I’m sure her Parkinsons (that’s what it was, right) will progress quickly. They built that up a lot last year, they can’t leave it hanging. Maybe that’s what will put House back in jail for good.
Did anyone else notice that they found something in the patient’s large intestine via an endoscopy? Or did they say small intestine?
This was Thirteen’s final appearance. Olivia Wilde is off to concentrate on her movie career.
Huntington’s Disease, not Parkinson’s.
I thought it was kind of weird that the not-new, not-thirteen doctor showed up and the writers expected us to know exactly who she was.
Maybe it’s just me because I’m a woman but there have been so many bland female doctors to come through, I had no idea who this one was and why we were supposed to know who she was.
I gleaned from a review that she was one of the doctors that came through in the same group as Thirteen, and she was known as “Pretty Doctor” or something?
She was the prison doctor who got fired for accommodating House in the season opener. She stood up for him because she believed he was right (he was) and lost her job for it.
Yah, I thought this was really obvious.
This week I liked better than last week - Foreman as Dean is still the stupidest thing ever, because even if the hospital is in the crapper, reputation wise, the board is still going to choose someone reasonable.
Why not Wilson? He’s at least at an appropriate level professionally to take on the role. The Foreman choice was just stupid, sloppy writing, IMHO.
Thanks. I watch so much TV in a week I am becoming REALLY bad at remembering characters from week to week. Two weeks ago was like 65 hours of television ago
What intrigued me about this storyline is that I wrote a short story years ago about a hyper-charitable guy who wanted to give, give, give even if it meant giving up his life in the process. The execution was very different, though.
I think I read that story, except it was about a tree.
This episode was good, in that it followed the tried-and-true House formula, yet broke the formula at the same time. I like the way they can both follow their traditions and thumb their noses at them simultaneously.
But I still don’t like that Chinawoman* doctor. Ye Gods, her voice gets on my nerves! Bring back Taub already!!!
*Yeah, I know she’s not Chinese. Would “Pinoy doctory” sound better?
Her character’s name is Park. You could call her that.
I liked this episode. It followed the formula and managed to entertain with some good character moments, which is pretty much what I expect from House. I especially liked Wilson flip-flopping on the question of whether or not it’s okay to take charity from ill people. We see Wilson at his work so little that I sometimes forget how important it is to him. Hell, he gave part of his own liver to one of his patients a while back. I can easily believe he would look the other way on neurological symptoms to get another patient’s kidney to save the life of one of his own patients.
I wonder if Wilson knows House screwed up the donation by doping the patient. I suspect he’s just in denial about it if anything. His relationship with House really is toxic to him on a lot of levels, and I actually see it as tragic that he decided to let House back into his life. This being, reportedly, the last season, I wonder if they’re going to do anything to kind of “wrap up” the weird relationship that Wilson and House have.
I just want to say, great post/username combination.
I haven’t been watching House in a long time. I didn’t know that Charlyne Yi was on the show now! It’s weird seeing her as an actress.
So, according to the show you can pretty much give a kidney to anybody and they do the surgery face up? Uh-huh.
What we found UTTERLY unbelievable: that they would even CONSIDER taking a kidney from someone who’d just been having unexplained tachycardia / muscle tremors. Utterly medically irresponsible.
Was it a hamster?
I’m glad to see the last of 13. I liked Park’s jealous attitude towards all the other women working with House (and practically threatening one of them with physical violence). I also like the big switcheroo with the charitable doctor messing with Park, but House and Park messing with her all along.
Not sure why it was spoilered but I left it within the tags.
I think House actually saved Wilson on this one. Can you imagine the guilt (not to mention the lawsuit) if they took one of his kidneys and then cured him?
