Some good, some bad in this episode. Good riddance to 13! Saw the deal with the new ducklings’ gift dispute coming a mile away.
I had started to think about the possibility of last week’s episode being an hallucination as others suggested. But there was too much stuff without House around in this episode to make me think they are going this way.
There’s a rule in good mystery stories (which House falls under). There are no last minute reveals of information that solves the mystery. The reader has to know everything that the detective/whatever knows when the reveal happens.
This episode violated this rule regardingthe iodine for the scan.
Liked the House/Wilson ethics debates and who took which side at different times. Weird hypothetical (and not so hypothetical) discussions involving gray areas are a favorite of mine.
If you go to IMDb and look up the cast members, you can get an idea about how things are going to go regarding future ducklings. But that would be cheating.
Not me, and I’m probably in the minority, but I just don’t get the hate for her. I do wish Olivia Wilde well with her movie career, though. I hope it’s a long and successful one.
I don’t hate her, I just find her damned near personality-free (and what she does have is kind of grating). Of course, Cameron was no better. I like Park’s personality much better - she’s got a lot more spark to her.
I’m in that minority right along with you. I liked 13 and wish she were still on the show. I don’t think I’d enjoy having a friend like her in real life, but I enjoyed her as a character. And she’s smokin’ hot!
I really can’t stand that Park chick. Can’t act, and not even close to eye candy. More like eye broccoli.
It isn’t hate of 13 as much as real annoyance with the writers.
13 was an OK character. Not appreciably better or worse than any of the other candidates in House’s survivor game or any of the other Ducklings. Problem is, at least half of the writers’ room seemed enthralled with 13 and she seemed to get a disproportionate amount of screentime and storylines. But it wasn’t necessarily good screentime and storylines and instead of making viewers more interested in The Saga Of Thirteen, it backlashed.
Yeah…they babies should be here by now, since House was away a year or so. I’d love to see him come in carrying two infants because he couldn’t get a sitter
So, are Park and Adams both sticking around? Hope so.
Well, given that Taub was quite the horn-dog, I wouldn’t be surprised if he DID make a pass at Foreman… upon which Foreman would break him in two like a pretzel, making it unlikely he’d be available to rejoin the team.
Thirteen is a breath of spring air next to Cameron, who I actively dislike. Thirteen is merely bland, but Cameron is a genuinely sanctimonious asshole. How Chase put up with her for so long is beyond me.
I can’t stand either one of them. They’re bland, boring, and seem only to be there because the show has male writers and they’re fascinated by the (alleged–I don’t see it) hotness. Taub was a much more interesting character. Of course, Chase and Foreman were kind of boring too (Chase might have had some of the “bland hottie” thing going on as well) but yeah…I’d like to see House end up with Taub and Park. And maybe somebody else interesting who isn’t a skinny interchangeable hottie with long dark hair.
Not specific to this episode but I found it funny:
A week or two ago I saw something where some of the cast members were interviewed about the upcoming season. Hugh Laurie was, not unreasonably, featured.
And he had this ersatz British accent. Sounded so WRONG!!!
Then I remembered he *** British. I knew that. I’ve heard him speak with his regular accent MANY times. I’ve just gotten so used to the generic American accent he uses for his role, that the British one sounded completely put on and fake. :p.
