Anyone watching Z Nation?

I enjoyed the re-make of DotD although it takes itself fairly seriously and lacks the “Romero qualities” I prefer in a zombie film. Still a really well done re-make even if it has fast zombies (boo!).

Z Nation to me is much more in the spirit of the later Romero movies. It is cheeky, gory, doesn’t take itself too seriously, big plot holes. You just have to take it for what it is and enjoy the mayhem.

I was mocking the show then, but I’ve since come to appreciate it, especially since TWD often displays (and FTWD is leaning in the direction of) infuriating stupidity.

I liked their ridiculing of the “nuke the fridge” sequence from the last Indiana Jones…

I actually think the crew of Z-Nation are marginally less idiotic than the Rictatorship and FTWD, they know to quarantine new arrivals, check for bites after encounters, etc…

I found myself yelling at their stupidity far less than (F)TWD, plus the humor is a welcome change from the grim TWD

I’m a bit less enamoured with Murphy’s Smurf-ish complexion, or maybe a primary component of the zombie vaccine is colloidal silver and he’s merely exhibiting signs of Argyria due to overdose

Just saw the second episode of the second season.

I am genuinely impressed and the bit where Murphy…

lands in the “dead pool”

made me laugh out loud.

That scene did make quite a splash. ^_~

(I continue to be impressed by this show. Of course it does benefit from comparisons with the concurrently-running Fear the Walking Dead.)

So long, Mack.

We hardly knew ya.

This show makes me gleeful. It’s so awesomely stupidly fun. "This doesn’t make sense? Guess what? Something else bizarro is about to happen!’

When did William Sadler gain weight? (He can still get it.) I love TWD and I really like FTWD (though it has a few problems). ZNation just makes me cackle.

Still catching up on Season 2. just finished the 2nd episode.

Good so far but I’m really not liking the switch to fast moving zombies.

This show was in my town filming (apparently the season closer episode) last weekend onboard a local museum ship (USS Turner Joy).

I’m a fan. The latter part of season 1 in particular was legitimately good, and narratively rich, while also being humorous and lighthearted.

Season 2 hasn’t grabbed me as much so far, but it’s early yet.
