Apologies to those who have to deal w/ me

I have not been very creative recently, I am experiencing burnout although, that’s not a excuse I’m sorry if I act immature, I am 14. :wheelchair_symbol: :cancer:

Moving to MPSIMS.

It actually sounds like you’re dealing with a lot of stressors so I can see what you mean. I imagine we could lend you an ear since it seems you’re open to that.

The carfentanil thread has been interesting.

Some people just seem like they were born at the wrong time. Something makes me think you would have felt right at home during the MySpace days!

I will make a few remarks and suggestions that you are free to think about or ignore at your leisure.

Keep in mind that no one here will accuse me of not being overly opinionated. With that in mind:

For every 56 posts that I read, I have 1 response.
For every 16 posts that you read, you have 1 response.

For everyone 7,814 posts that I read, I have created a new topic.
For every 92 posts that you read, you have created a new topic.

I’ll note that this second metric is part of the reason for the post response rate as you often seem to post a lot in your own thread. That is not only understandable, but appreciated. We much prefer people who create topics to stick around and discuss them.

My initial thought is that you might want to lurk more, but to be completely honest, this board needs more of you than me. The last time I created a topic was over a year ago and the one before that was four years ago. This board would die a quick death if everyone posted topics at that rate.

I would still recommend you branch out and read more disparate threads here. While I don’t want to discourage you from creating topics, as noted above, I do think you could learn how to go about that better and reading other topics would help in that. Learn the different forums and how they work and what types of posts thrive there. From a few of your new topics, I’ve seen that you sometimes just toss up a link without comment.

  • If you find something interesting on the internet and want to share, then share, but tell us what your thoughts are.

  • If you have some off the wall question that you’d rather have an expert opinion as opposed to listening to a hallucinating chatbot, post it here. Just make sure it fits in the forum where you post it. As @Jackmannii noted, the carfentil thread is a great example. An interesting question with a factual answer in the Factual Questions forum. Perfect!

  • Do get a slightly thick skin. Some of us (me? never!) can be a bit rambunctious at times and that doesn’t always come across in a nuanced way (and sometimes it’s not meant to).

  • And finally, welcome to the boards! Hope you stick around and thrive! Hell, once you figure us out, bring your friends, even that smart one that everyone thinks is a bit odd. They’ll fit right in here as well.

Answering the OP;

Thing is we don’t have to deal with you. We can choose not to. Easily.

Answer this, Why do you want to hang around a message board a bunch of older folks frequent?

Tell us about you.

No way !
I used to be 14 !!

well I come on here because people around my age don’t want to talk about the stuff they do on here, such as philosophy, I only have 1 friend who is willing to talk about it but they don’t really understand most of it I like having those conversations but it just doesn’t sit well with me having them with ppl who don’t understand ;-; also there’s less judgement here than high school. I just kinda grew up faster than everyone per say? having some trauma and internet access …well yeah no explaining there.

;w; heh

Curious-er and curious-er.

I’ll try to say this while being slightly less judgmental than a high schooler ;), but you might find your time here more rewarding if you considered tweaking your posting style.

I have not made any effort to review all of your posts, but in the few I recall, you have not really developed your thoughts to any great extent, or stuck with topics you raised. I am very happy to hear from and engage with folk your age, but I also have limited interest in posts that seem little more than drive-by comments. And I’ve got no idea what “;w;heh” is supposed to mean.

Please accept that I mean this entirely supportive and constructive.

You could learn a lot here. I have.

;w; is a emoticon text

its like a face

:3 ty

OK. Keep using emoticon texts if you wish.

Speaking entirely for myself, I do not use those beyond those linked in the message bar, and am not interested in looking them up, so I will likely not be participating in threads in which those are used widely.

Again - intended entirely constructively - consider your last 3 posts in this thread. They impress me as much more akin to texts, and convey very limited information. I know we are in MPSIMS, where a lot of silliness goes on. But you might wish to consider a single post with somewhat more substance, than 3 extremely brief text-like posts.

I hope to encounter you around here somewhere else down the line.

I wondered if there’s a particular philosophy @Melanie the witch wants to discuss here. It sounded like a good theme for writing here.

I doubt it. She hasn’t been here since 2003,
