The thing is, most boards arn’t like the SDMB at all. Some boards you can go and see people post 100 messages a day basically like me.

Indeed. I make it a rule to stop before posting and think, “Hey, do I have anything meaningful to add to this conversation?” Usually, the answer is no, and I don’t post. (Sorry, folks, there is no prize for dredging up examples to the contrary.)
I’d have a huge post count if I said everything I momentarily felt like saying on here, and I’d have no friends at all if I said everything I momentarily felt like saying in real life.

What rot. You could just tell 'em we convinced ya to stay. It’s up to you, but if you take a look around, there are a few other eager beavers like yourself who’s managed to put up with us slow codgers. 
Well, you’d just get lumped in with the others who have said “I’m going to leave now” (sometimes repeatedly) and never did.

Don’t you think that “I’m leaving” threads are just cries for attention much like “flame me” threads?
Don’t you think that if you really felt like leaving you could just… leave?
I’m not trying to be mean but rather trying to understand the thought process behind creating a thread like this.
