After trying to resume normal posting, I see that the ripples carry far and wide. I made a bad desision. It was a mistake. No excuses.
I have e-mailed the parties personally involved and offered my apologies (which were graciously accepted) and now I offer a general apology to the boards en masse.
Looking back, I see that , though they might read that way, I meant no disrespect to the mods and the wonderful job they do. I appreciate their hard work and time, and have said as much.
I hope the members of the SDMB public can accept this sincere apology as well.
Steve
Even though I wasn’t at all affected by your original pit thread, it seemed to me you were stepping on some toes, and it’s big of you to apologize.
I’d also like to note that it’s awfully dick-ish of Zenster to follow you around bringing up shit in completely unrelated threads.
Know this - it will take you more than ten times you current post count before people forget. I can only think of one person who ever achieved it, and even he eventually got banned.
The fact that you apologized to those involved, and then to the TM, does mean something. Some folks won’t want to let you forget it, but many others will let it fade into the background, provided it doesn’t happen again soon!
Well then, allow me to cheerfully accept the apology being offered. If the trollish behavior of haraunging the moderators is going to cease then I will have no further comment. I just happen to feel rather protective about the people who selflessly devote so much of their time to making these boards the wonderful place that they are.
