Bumping this thread because I had a rare weekend this weekend where I wasn’t out doing things, and Ms. Cups wanted to catch up on her godawful reality shows…so I turned on the Hulu and marathoned this show.
I loved it! It’s so silly/stupid and it’s humor that’s right up my alley (FTR Airplane! is my favorite movie ever). It’s not exactly the same as ZAZ, but it definitely fills a void for me. No one is doing stuff like this anymore, much less well, and I think it;s refreshing and new and wonderful.
I’m enjoying this season’s crop of guest starts. It was so refreshing to see Michelle Dockery play a cold automaton with limited understanding of human emotion for a change.
I just finished watching Season 4 (which came out last month) and I thought it was very funny, especially compared to Season 3 which I thought was kind of a dud. The TV/movie genre parodies were pretty well executed, Bobby Cannavale was great as Angie’s 23-year-old son and Taram Killian was a good villain. And there were lots of big-name cameos, as usual.
I really enjoyed the new season too, which threw caution to the wind when it came to making any semblance of sense after Angie’s long incarceration.
I should note that a friend of mine is in Episode 4: she’s a Hollywood stunt woman who plays the model Lola Falana in the Marie Antoinette gown who’s murdered at the beginning of the episode. Later she’s in the morgue when everyone is eating sushi off her dead body.
Well, dammit, I didn’t know the new season was coming, and I had deleted the show from my DVR settings, so it didn’t record the episodes broadcast last weekend. I’ve set it to record them now, but it doesn’t show any coming up in the next two weeks.
AFAICT, they aren’t available for streaming at TBS.com, either, although a few articles online said they were. Does anyone know if they’ll be rebroadcast or have any advice for how to stream them?
