Every once in a while (ok, often) my right index finger “taps” on its own accord, which means I “click” onto places I didn’t know I wanted to go to. What’s up with that?
That used to happen to me, or my mouse hand would jerk and click at the same time, causing all kinds of digital (ha!) misadventures. Turned out it was a side effect from long-term use of a medication. My doctor switched me to a newer formulation of the drug and it cleared up, but he still checks my hands for twitches every time I see him.
not trying to be a smart ass, but isn’t that pretty close to how it started with Michael J. Fox?
Welllll, I’m hoping not. Being a big fan of the 5 finger rule (count 'em off: Maybe It Will Go Away)…for a while I thought I could just wait it out. Much MUCH later I’m thinking mabe I should mention it to my dr. (who I’m seeing tomorrow about another thing.) Considering my past medical history this is barely a blip on the radar screen (is that an ancient reference?)…hey! that was his pinkie! (I read the book.) so this is TOTALLY different…
just feeling a little Jewel (Fool)/Pink “I’m Falling Out so you better get that mattress ready”…
will post what the doc says, in case we need to start a Foundation.
In the mean time…I don’t CARE about the Euro— I was trying to watch the dolphin nuzzle the kitten.
We will be waiting for your update. No that wasn’t ancient, ancient is when I read a post and respond, with “so what I’m hearing here is…” instead of “so what I’m seeing here is…” of course I can remember when my buddy was cool as hell cause he could link his VIC20 to bbs in socal and spend all night downloading 1 or 2kb of game data for a game that loaded off a data-sette(cassette tape) for play on my Commodore64
I get the same thing sometimes, when I’m doing something in Photoshop or Illustrator that requires my index finger to remain pressing on the mouse for a while. The middle finger reflexively clicks, and unforeseen things happen.
This actually happened to me about 3 years ago. I’d inadvertently click the mouse with my index finger while I was on the computer. I reported it to my GP. Fast forward through an MRI, “possibly Multiple Sclerosis”, MS Specialist… “No, it’s probably not MS.”
After all that scare, it just went away. At least I don’t notice it happening anymore. So it could just be one of those things that happen for a short time then go away.

I usually switch my mouse over to my non-dominant hand when I’m … wait, what did you mean “jerk”?
It happens to me a lot, always with my dominant hand. I assumed it was repetitive stress related.
