Hey!
Oh, wait. Attractive.
Carry on, then.

Carry on, then.
Isn’t that statement redundant?

In the US, I’ve always been a plain-to-unattractive, overweight woman and now I’m one who is fast approaching middle age. People here respond accordingly.
About a year ago, though, I went to Morocco and was checked out and hit on pretty much from the moment I stepped off the plane. Admittedly, about a third of it was just macho posturing and about a third of it was someone trying to get me to spend money, but some of the attention was actually real. It was very, very interesting being on the other side of the line.
Reminds me of when family friends, redheads all, were connecting through Hawaii on the way to New Zealand. Their daughter was 8, and an utterly adorable little redhead in curls. Apparently a lot of people in Hawaii went gaga over her, asking to take pictures with her, even touch her hair (!). Guess redheads are uncommon in Hawaii…
I suffer the same problem because of my height. And blue eyes. And flowing blond hair.
I agree with those who mentioned race or ethnic background. I’m from NY state, in an area with lots of people of Italian descent, including me. For women, the dark hair and eyes, not too dark skin, curvy-but-not-overweight look is quite common, so if someone likes that type, there are plenty of options. I fit this mold and didn’t stand out too much. Some women with this look were more attractive, some less so, but overall I wasn’t especially “hot”.
Then I moved to the midwest where a majority of the attractive women were farmers daughters or girl next door types. Lighter hair, if they were thin they didn’t have “curves” as often, etc. They were quite attractive in many cases, but in a very different way than me.
Yeah. All of a sudden I was Monica Bellucci or something. Very weird.
Pics or it didn’t happen.
Maybe you just look like you’re from the West Coast and people notice you for that?
