It is well known that there are distinct regional variations within the Unites States in political opinions, cuisine, religious beliefs, education levels, ease with which one takes offense, and tendency to develop certain diseases.
In your opinion, are there regional variations in the levels of physical attractiveness of the inhabitants? Which regions do you believe have the most attractive people and why??
Models and entertainers–people who trade monetarily on their good looks–tend to gravitate towards LA, New York, Miami and Las Vegas. They also go to places where they can possibly marry rich (Dallas, Jackson Hole, the Hamptons), but those four cities are the big destination towns for professional hotties.
There was an extensive study done on this subject in the '60s by an independant research group called The Beach Boys. Their conclusion was that they had “been all around this great big world” and that they had “seen all kinds of girls”. They go on to say that they “couldn’t wait to get back to the States, back to the cutest girls in the world.”
Ultimately the had to pick a single region in the States and it appears that The Beach Boys wished all girls could be “California girls”.
Kalamazoo. More specifically, the part of K’zoo where I happen to be. flex flex flex
Seriously, though, any place that sees a large flow of people from out of town for a specific purpose will fit the OP, I think. College towns, I’ve noticed, usually have a lot of attractive people. Any place where the population flow is more stagnant will have less attractive people.
First thing I thought of when seeing the OP: hmmm. Well, East Coast girls are hip…I really dig the styles they wear. But wait…southern girls, with the way they talk – they knock me out when I’m down there.
Tallahassee is nice. FSU is here. Some fairly attractive people are attending. Especially those of the female persuasion. Lawd have mercy!
[Elvis] I’m just a red-blooded boy and I can’t stop thinkin’ about girls…girls…girls…girls…[/Elvis]
Florida has a better than average looking populace as compared to some more northern places that I’ve lived. BUT (and this is a very big butt), this is probably because a lot of attractive people (and a lot of crazy people) people tend to move down here for the warmer weather, beaches, whatever. This is for both men and women. Sadly it doesn’t usually mean that more intelligent people move down here. I’d take smart over pretty any day.
BTW, it also depends a lot on your definition of “attractive”, of course.
I don’t know about “most attractive”, but I can tell you that wherever I live, I am personally responsible for lowering the average attractiveness of the local population.
I’ve always wondered about that–was it that they wished all girls would look like California Girls, so that all girls everywhere would be gorgeous, or was it that they wanted all the girls to be in California, because that’s where the guys lived and they wanted more pretty women there?
Yeah, I agree with this. Also towns that have a lot of outdoor activities tend to have a lot of attractive people.
When I first moved to Austin, I was impressed by all the gorgeous guys. And then someone pointed out how many gorgeous girls there were as well and I was a bit crushed…
It has been my experience that all of the attractive girls that I have ever met are either from Texas or California. Sometimes these people move around to other states/countries, but they start out in TX or CA.
