I sort of had this working, not in a script, but at least one part of a rule-creation step, in a procedure I last did a year or two ago. I can’t even remember how to do that, and Im sure the whole could be made simpler:
I have a 2000 emails from say 100 different addresses, all of which I want to delete efficiently.
Find one email from one of those addresses. Select it, and hit the key-combo for "make rule (which I forgot). It then asks you what to with the email, I select “received from”, it fills it in, and then I make the rule to trash it and its siblings, then choose the option to run on already-received in box (but not future in-mail, because I like the auto info sent to me when its new.
Which was a drag, because even with the autofill I needed to create 100 new rules afresh, and name them 1-100.
But I can’t even remember that autofill.
Any help?
What I really would like is a script/template fill that performs the whole shebang, changing only the “received from”…, and if any Apple Automate jockeys are out there and can supply one, I’ll be your best pal and do something in my ability for you. (Piano lessons?)
