How about the points keep getting passed down? So to borrow your example p2 would get 15 points from p1 and would owe p3 12 points. It will make every bid count and add a bunch more stratigy.

This game is built on multiple valuations being false. I think we can all accept that, this late in the game.
I don’t see how differing ideas of ““base value”” can work in this auction.
Someone who knows the right value, will bid LESS than someone with a false value. Yet still have to pay someone who will end up losing anyway, – or could win, due to this auction mechanic.
Do we spill the beans yet on what valuation will be used at the final reckoning?
