This started off as one or two paragraphs, but it took on a life of it’s own. It needs to be said.
If I have done my job here, it is a tame vent, and appology. Again, I feel it needs to be said, and to be heard. I thank you for your time in advance.
I love the entire construct of Haggle, and was thrilled to see that a year later another haggle game was going to happen. To say that hearing about a new haggle game made my day would be an understatement. It made my week. [This was back when March Madness Haggle was looking for sign ups] I knew I was going to play Haggle again, and that was enough. Getting to defend my position from Dragon’s Hoard was icing.
I still believe, in spite of my misplaying, that there is something to be said for being very ““hands on”” in this game. I work out a LOT of my ideas before I type them out. More often than not, my ideas get at more than one angle of my game. I put a LOT into my play. Perhaps too much.
That being said, I wish not to attack anyone with what I have to say here. I will simply reflect on what I have done, and what I wish I have done.
I expected this go around to be Dragon’s Hoard. Not only because I knew Dragon’s Hoard well (and of course, won it) but because Dragon’s Hoard used a vocabulary I was familiar with. It was my first time playing Haggle, and I loved all of the things I could do with it. I loved more, all the things that I “brought out of the fire” that I had thrown in. Namely, the double copper rule from Dragon’s hoard, and as we have seen in this game, Rule 8, regarding why OreDigger77 was after Quarters.
If Dragon’s Hoard showed me how to understand haggle with others, this game has showed me how to understand haggle with myself. I believe if I had been on top of my game, I could have “solved” this round of haggle sooner than I did. I remain amazed at how “sideways” Haggle gets, and because of that fact, showing here in spades, I can not simply state that I would have secured first.
What I really want you guys to know, is that I wanted to re-experience Dragon’s Hoard here. IT was not to be. Failing to accept that, I let my emotions get away from me, more than once over what I thought “Haggle” was.
If we truly believe that it is not if we win or lose, but how we play a game, then this experience has been fulfilling.
I’m not exactly sure what to do with I have learned, but, I think I will not forget the data. Once it becomes information, I know it will help.
I don’t know if this is an overall apology or not, or some mufti-faceted vent. It needed to be said, and I hope that the insight I have given does it’s part in helping to mend your opinion of me.
Hopefully in time, OUTSIDE of haggle, you guys will give me another chance. However, What I brought to this game, and what this game brought in return, has not showed by best side. – For that much, I am sorry.

By the way, have any of you joined the new Crimson Glyph Mafia game?
Pedescribe is running it and his last one, the Werewolf Split game, was brilliant, fun, and very well thought out.
I recommend it. It takes a lot longer than Haggle, but is slower paced you work as a team(granted, you don’t know your team).

Meeko, why the bitterness? You could have taken the deal instead of Digger. You chose not to. You knew the pennies were worthless. Why not give me my tiny little victory?

ETA: I never knew the condition on collecting so many pennies. I still don’t.
I figured telling you that if Digger got a 25% bonus on EVERYTHING he owns would be enough to scare you off of making the deal with him.
