Bids can be submitted via PM up until tonight at 6pm. One bid PM per player, please. You can bid any number of points for any item, including only one amount for one quarter, the same amount for both quarters, or differing amounts for different quarters.
High bidder wins the item - at the price that the SECOND HIGHEST bidder put in. Bid prices (in points) are deducted from the winner as an IOU in scoring, and not credited to anybody. This means that you are not penalized excessively for bidding much more than another player for an item - you get it at the maximum price that any other player was willing to commit for it.

There’s not much point in discussing auction mechanics unless NAF changes his prerequesites or we get full signoff. I admit I wasn’t tracking the details closely, but yesterday AFAIK the signoff sheet looked somewhat like this:

Okay, NAF, the ball seems to be sitting in your court, not that you have to do anything with it. If you still want to have an auction, there will probably need to be slightly different terms.
Nope, I meant it when I said the terms were non negotiable. The auction isn’t a bad deal for them but if they don’t want it I am happy to keep the items I have out of circulation.

I got my bid in on the auction. I like the rule where the winner pays the second place bid it adds a fun bit of strategy.

Yeah…I like Haggle OK, but I wouldn’t want to jump right into another game immediately.
I think the whole thing is quite rushed, but I’ve gotten used to it. I don’t think I could commit to being available to do a Haggle game more than a few times a year. I have no idea how anyone could.
I prefer Mafia, though.
I agree, but I think about 3-4 times a year would be great. I would get fired if we played more then that. I pretty much took Wednesday and Thursday off from work to play.

I can put in only ONE bid per item. If I group items together in a package, I only get one bid for that package. I can not, after I assembled, and bid for a package, un-assemble that package, and bid for the items again, in separate.

Player B bids 17 for a fish stick.
A fish stick is worth 14 points.
