I should add that I’ve been practicing doing it with an Alan Arkin voice, and I think I’m getting pretty good, if I do say so myself.

Yes, an awesome movie. Surprisingly enough, it’s my favorite.

I saw that! I loved the roller-coaster scene.
It flopped, but I went to see it five times at the actual movieplex.

Plus it really was a fun fun movie! The Movie Gangster types helping to defeat the evil Nazis “Hey! I’m an American!”
I also love the version of Begin the Beguine in it.
Yes, it was a lovely version, wasn’t it? I’ll have to poke around on imdb and see who the singer was. Might be worth looking into her stuff on iTunes. Hmmmm.
imdb didn’t have a list of songs information, but a quick search for soundtrack, “The Rocketeer” pulled up a hit that shows the singer to be Melora Hardin. She also sings “When Your Lover Has Gone.”
And she’s listed in the cast as “South Seas Club singer.”
I **loved **this movie when it came out! I saw it several times and had all kinds of comics, books & toys. It’s been quite a while since I last saw it, now I really feel like seeing it again!

I have a few bits of memorabilia, including a cardboard stand-up my sister got me as a birthday present and the old Screamin’ vinyl kit. I’ve been slowly collecting model kits to build each vehicle in the movie, including the GeeBee and the '34 Ford truck. 
Sorry, but my favorite quote from that movie is, “BIG gopher.”
