I liked it a lot until the very ending, which I thought was unnecessary.
Same here. I don’t think the gang would have let him walk away after that: someone would have put a bullet in his head while he was asleep.
I’ve found with recent Archer episodes that the ending never seems to quite work. I find the rest of the show hilarious, but for some reason, all the ending scenes seem awkward and not funny.

It occurs to me that having a such a moment of spoiled-brat-ness and crashing the shuttle out of simple “mine! mine!” infantile mentality is something Peter Griffin would do, and in fact why Peter Griffin’s schtick gets tiresome at times.
