Are Al-Qaeda & Taliban praising Katrina?

Just found this of WDSU’s site (New Orleans Channel 6):

What bible do these people read? Almost every analysis of the story of Sodom and Gomorrah I have seen has them being punished essentially for inhospitality (you can maybe throw in greed and just being generally depraved). Fitting homosexuality in there as the “crime” for which they were punished requires a bit of contortion. Heck…Lot offered his daughters to the crowd in lieu of his guests which the crowd refused. In the story this was deemed a decent compromise for Lot to reach for and for his trying to be an honorable host he and his family were spared by the angels/God. I think most people today would find tossing your daughters to a crowd to be raped to protect a guest as not a viable solution to the problem and the father would be roundly condemned for the action.

As for Katrina being praised by the Taliban as some have said there are nutters aplenty to go around on both sides.

Probably the same one Fred Phelps reads.

What makes you think these people know how to read?

So maybe not Muslim extremists, but some Christian extremists have certainly said things to that effect:

Barring a tsunami or something else that huge, I think this is about as big a natural disaster as the US is likely to see.

Hmm…this seems a bit of a pointless sentence:

Barring X happening (where X= anything bigger than Katrina) then this is as big a natural disaster as the US will see.

Well obviously. But your theory only works if you debar all the other entrants from the competition (ie anything bigger than Katrina). I mean Yellowstone could blow, San Andreas might move north, the desert may spread - there’s loads of things that could happen that would be worse than Katrina (natural disaster-speaking).

No offence, I’m just in a nitpicky mood

Could God mix a drink so strong that even he gets a hangover from it?
