At Sam’s Club, they have pretty good deals on big, heavy, seemingly-well-made cooking pans of different sizes, with the brand “Bakers & Chefs.” Logo has a little drawing of a baker and a chef. Since this brand name is also on a bunch of other cooking-related items they sell, from aprons to napkins to silverware, I’m going to assume that the pans are made by some major cookware company and just labeled in-house by Sam’s Club. I’ve never seen this brand anywhere else and it’s damn hard to find any reviews of them online.
The pans certainly feel very solid and well-made, but I have no way of knowing how durable the nonstick coating is. Does anyone know?
Yeah, pretty much. It’s like Kenmore stuff–a large Kenmore appliance was generally made by Whirlpool, their sewing machines are relabeled Janome products, etc. Good stuff with a much lower price point. This is just Sam’s store-labeled line of restaurant supplies, and the handful of things I’ve used have all been on par with the stuff we get at the Gordon’s Food Service store.
I’ve never used the pans from Sam’s, but we buy our nonstick skillets at GFS and those are some really nice pans. Solid, even heating, stay slick as long as you can reasonably expect a nonstick pan to do so. We usually get about 2 years of heavy use (with hand-washing and non-metal utensils) out of them, which is really all you can ask for out of a nonstick pan.
I was looking to get my son & daughter-in-law a set of cookware for Christmas. I have on Baker & Chef skillet and love it so I was hoping to by a whole set for them.
I have been buying bakers and chefs for my restaurant for years the quality is very good. As far as the The non-stick pans, I honestly have no idea I have found that if you season the regular pans well you will never have food stick. Good luck
